Abstract: PURPOSE: A mechanical seal of a water pump in a vehicle is provided to reduce a producing cost by decreasing component arranged between a sleeve and a cartridge and to improve durability. CONSTITUTION: A mechanical seal for a water pump of a vehicle comprises a sleeve(32) integrally rotating by inserting a bearing shaft of a water pump; a cartridge(34) rotationally supporting the sleeve with the bearing shaft by being fixed on a body of the water pump; plural sealing faces(34a,36a,36b) arranged between the sleeve and the cartridge; a retainer ring(36) formed between the sleeve and the cartridge; and a ring spring(38) elastically pressurizing the second sealing face of the retainer ring. The sleeve is produced as a steel to reduce pressure generated in the water pump. The sealing faces endure pressure generated in an impeller of the water pump to maximize sealing performance. Thereby, the mechanical seal for the water pump of the vehicle reduces a producing cost by decreasing component arranged between the sleeve and the cartridge.

CONSTITUTION: An electromotive water pump comprises a rotary shaft(1), a rotor assembly(3), a stator assembly(5), and a sealing can unit(7) of a container feature. The rotor assembly is combined in an outer periphery of the rotary shaft, and rotatably installed inside a space in which a pumped cooling water flows. The stator assembly is installed in order to surround the rotor assembly, and provides a magnetic force which rotates the rotor assembly by electricity provided from an outside. The sealing can unit forms an inner side of the stator assembly in order to form a gap with an outer periphery of the rotor assembly. The sealing can unit rotatably supports by completely surrounding a rear end of the rotary shaft and the rotor assembly.
