CONSTITUTION: An exhaust system comprises an exhaust line through which exhaust gas is discharged to outside, an injector which injects fuel to the exhaust line or an engine cylinder, a nitrogen oxide purification catalyst(320) which transforms the fuel additionally injected from the injector into reducing agent and reduces a part of nitrogen oxide with unburned fuel or hydrocarbon while dispersing the rest to be stored, and a controller which controls the injector to inject additional fuel.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A diesel oxidation catalyst and a method for producing thereof are provided to effectively eliminated nitric oxide exhausted from a diesel engine, and to facilitate the application to the diesel engine by a lean nitric oxide catalyst without using a separate engine control device to supply a reducing agent. CONSTITUTION: A diesel oxidation catalyst is produced by mixing an Ag/Al_2O_3 catalyst produced from 2wt% of Ag and 98wt% of Al_2O_3, and a Cu/ZSM_5 catalyst produced from 4.66wt% of Cu and 95.34wt% of ZSM_5 in a volume ratio of 2:1. The producing method of Cu/ZSM_5 catalyst comprises the following steps: performing an ion exchange process for 5 hours at room temperature after adding Cu(CH_3CO_2)2-H_2O and ZSM_5 to distilled water; drying the mixture for 12 hours at 110 deg C after washing the mixture with the distilled water; obtaining Cu/ZSM5 powder by sintering the mixture at 500 deg C for 5 hours at a muffle furnace; obtaining a catalyst slurry with a viscosity of 200cpsi and a solid content of 20% by dipping the Cu/ZSM5 powder into a solution containing 5.5g of acetic acid and 64.5 milliliters of water after dispersing the Cu/ZSM5 powder into the distilled water, and milling with a ball mill to make over 94% of whole particles to have a particle size under 7 micrometers after setting the pH into 4.2; coating the catalyst slurry by dipping into a cordierite carrier; drying the catalyst slurry at 150 deg C for 2 hours; and sintering the catalyst slurry at 450~550 deg C for 4 hours.
