Abstract: A power train control method of a hybrid vehicle is provided to prevent the vehicle from rolling back by operating a planetary gear set if the hybrid vehicle equipped with a power train starts on the hill road after stopping. A hybrid vehicle is composed of: a CVT(Continuously Variable Transmission) having a driving pulley connected to an engine and a driven pulley connected to the motor by a planetary gear set; a planetary brake fixing a sun gear of the planetary gear set; and a planetary clutch connecting and disconnecting a ring gear connected to a rotary of the motor, to/from a carrier coupled to the driven pulley. A power train control method of the hybrid vehicle comprises the steps of: judging whether the vehicle stops on the hill road or not, by an inclination angle sensor and a vehicle speed sensor; combining the planetary brake and the planetary clutch if the vehicle stops on the hill road; and releasing the planetary clutch when a driver steps on an accelerator pedal.
