    Abstract: The invention relates to a fuel cell (1) having two electrodes (2) and an i on exchanger membrane (6), where the electrodes (2) are each provided with an electrocatalytic layer (4) and at least one gas channel for a reaction gas (7). The fuel cell has at least one additive which prevents the formation of peroxide s and/or destroys peroxides. The invention furthermore relates to the use of at least one additive in or on electrodes (2) of a fuel cell (1) having an ion exchanger membrane (6), where the electrodes (2) are each provided with an electrocatalytic layer (4) and at least one gas channel for a reaction gas (7). The at least one additive serves for the prevention of the formation and/or for the destructi on of peroxides on or in the electrodes (2).

    Abstract: Process for catalytically converting fuel to remove nitrogen oxides from I.C. engine exhaust gases comprises feeding the fuel and a partial stream of the exhaust gas separately into a converter; and vaporizing the fuel. An Independent claim is also included for a converter for catalytically converting fuel comprising a vaporization chamber connected to a conversion chamber. The vaporization chamber has feeds for exhaust gas or feed gas and fuel. The conversion chamber contains a catalyst for catalytically converting the fuel. The chambers are connected together so that heat can be transported from the conversion chamber to the vaporization chamber. Preferred Features: The fuel is dehyrogenated or partially oxidized to carboxylic acids and/or carboxylic acid anhydrides. The catalyst is gamma -Al2O3.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to an integrated process for the synthesis of propylene oxide, which comprises at least the following steps: (i) dehydrogenation of propane to give a substream T( 0 ) comprising at least propane, propene and hydrogen; (ii) fractionation of the substream T( 0 ) to give at least one gaseous hydrogen-rich substream T( 2 ) and a substream T( 1 ) comprising at least propene and propane; (iii) synthesis of hydrogen peroxide using the substream T( 2 ), giving a substream T ( 4 ) which is rich in hydrogen peroxide and a gaseous substream T( 6 ); (iv) fractionation of the substream T( 1 ) to give at least one propane-rich substream T( 5 ) and at least one propene-rich substream T( 3 ); (v) reaction of the at least one substream T( 3 ) with substream T( 4 ) to give propylene oxide.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for continuously producing hydroxylammonium salts by catalytically reducing nitrogen monoxide with hydrogen in a diluted aqueous solution of mineral acid in a plurality of series-connected reaction stages. The inventive method is characterized in that the inflow of the diluted aqueous solution of mineral acid is split into at least two partial streams prior to being supplied to the plurality of series-connected reaction stages. A first partial stream is supplied to the first reaction stage. A second partial stream is supplied to a reaction stage other than the first reaction stage, whereby the inflow of diluted aqueous solution of mineral acid into the plurality of series-connected reaction stages is controlled by the pH value of the reaction stage that is not the first reaction stage.
