Abstract: The invention relates to a thermoplastic moulding composition containing A from 20 to 80% by weight of a thermoplastic polysulphone, B from 10 to 50% by weight of a copolymer based on b1) a vinylaromatic monomer from the group consisting of styrene, alpha -methylstyrene and p-methylstyrene, or mixtures thereof, and b2) acrylonitrile, and C from 10 to 60% by weight of at least one graft copolymer comprising, in each case based on C, c1) from 50 to 90% by weight of at least one elastomer (rubber) and c2) from 10 to 50% by weight of at least one shell grafted onto the elastomer, is characterised in that the copolymer B used contains, based on B, from 88 to 73% by weight of the vinylaromatic monomer b1) and from 12 to 27% by weight of acrylonitrile b2) in copolymerised form, and the viscosity indices are in the range from 50 to 120, and that furthermore, a graft copolymer C having a mean particle size in the range from 80 to 500 nm (d50 value of the cumulative weight distribution) is used whose elastomer c1) contains, in copolymerised form, c11 at least 80% by weight of butadiene and c12 from 0 to 20% by weight of styrene and/or acrylonitrile, and whose shell c2 contains, based thereon, c21 from 90 to 10% by weight of styrene and c22 from 10 to 90% by weight of methyl methacrylate. The moulding composition is used for the production of mouldings.

Abstract: Use of plastics pipes as a protective lining in chimneys of furnaces, the protective lining consisting of a free-standing inner tube made from a plurality of pipe sections which are joined together by positive-locking and friction-locking. Preferably the pipe sections are made of thermoplastics, for example of aromatic polyethers or polythioethers, and can contain approximately 5 to approximately 50 % by weight of fillers and approximately 1 to approximately 20 % by weight of flame retardants in homogeneous dispersion.

Abstract: Transparent flame-retardant poly(arylether-arylsulfone) molding materials preferably contain not less than 50% by weight of units of the formula and, as a flameproofing agent, from 0.1 to 10% by weight, based on the weight of poly(arylether-arylsulfone), of a poly(2,6-dibromophenylene 1,4-oxide) having a molecular weight of from 1000 to 20000, and, if required, a heat stabilizer. The molding materials are useful for the production of shaped articles, films and fibers.
