Abstract: The invention concerns a process for simultaneously preparing 6aminocapronitrile and hexamethylene diamine proceeding from adipodinitrile. The process is characterized in that: (1) adipodinitrile is partially hydrogenated in the presence of a catalyst in order to obtain a mixture containing 6-aminocapronitrile, hexamethylene diamine and adipodinitrile; (2) 6-aminocapronitrile and hexamethylene diamine are separated from the mixture; (3) between 0.01 and 10 wt %, relative to adipodinitrile, of an acid or an acidic ion exchanger is added to the part substantially containing adipodinitrile, and the adipodinitrile is separated from the mixture; and (4) the adipodinitrile is returned to step (1).

Abstract: The invention concerns catalysts suitable for preparing aliphatic alpha-, omega-aminonitriles by partial hydrogenation of aliphatic dinitriles, containing: (a) metallic cobalt, a cobalt compound or their mixtures, the metallic cobalt portion being between 20 and 100 wt % relative to (a); (b) between 10 and 70 wt %, relative to (a), of metallic iron, iron oxide, a further iron compound or their mixtures, the iron oxide portion being between 20 and 100 wt % relative to (b); and (c) between 0 and 1 wt %, relative to (a), of a compound based on an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or zinc.

Abstract: The invention concerns the production of compounds containing NH2-groups by hydrogenating compounds containing at least one unsaturated carbon-nitrogen bond with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst at temperatures not below room temperature and under increased hydrogen partial-pressure, preferably in the presence of a solvent, in which one (a) uses a cobalt and/or ironcontaining catalyst, and (b), after conversion of the compound to be hydrogenated and/or the selectivity of the product desired drops below a defined value, or after an increase in the quantity of an undesired by-product beyond a defined value, one breaks off the hydrogenation by stopping the supply of the compounds to be hydrogenated and, if desired, of any solvents present, (c) one treats the catalyst with hydrogen at a temperature between 150 to 400 ~C and a hydrogen pressure between 0.1 to 30 MPa and selects a treatment time of 2 to 48 hours, and (d) one subsequently continues the hydrogenation of a least one compound containing an unsaturated carbonnitrogen bond as well as the regeneration of cobalt and/or iron-containing catalysts.
