A method of producing a liquid ejecting head of the foregoing type is practices by way of the steps of preparing a base plate having a plurality of liquid ejecting elements, forming a plurality of supporting portions (1) on a supporting member (2), forming a grooves member including a grooved element (3), and then connecting the grooved element (3) to a resin member constituting a part of the grooved member via the supporting portions (1).

Abstract: An ink-jet head assembling apparatus (10) assembles a nozzle head of an ink-jet head for discharging an ink in a predetermined pattern from a heater board (102) having a plurality of heaters for heating the ink, and a top plate member (104) having a plurality of discharge orifices for discharging the ink heated by the corresponding heaters in a jet-like manner. The apparatus is provided with a first position detection mechanism (40) for measuring forming positions of the discharge orifices of said top plate member (104), a second position detection mechanism (42) for detecting arranging positions of the heaters on said heater board (102), a position adjustment mechanism for comparing a first detection result detected by said first position detection mechanism (40) with a second detection result detected by said second position detection mechanism (42), and moving said top plate member relative to said heater board by a shift amount between the two detection results so as to align the positions of the heaters with the positions of the corresponding discharge orfices, and an adhesion mechanism for adhering said top plate member and said heater board aligned by said position adjustment mechanism to each other.

Abstract: Un aparato y método para corregir las características de impresion de una cabeza de impresion de línea completa, y producir una cabeza de impresion de calidad de impresion elevada a alto rendimiento de fabricacion, una cabeza de impresion corregida mediante este aparato y una impresora que emplea esta cabeza de impresion. De conformidad con este método, se imprime una imagen sobre un medio de impresion usando impulsos dobles obtenidos basándose en la fluctuacion de la resistencia de cada unidad de impresion de una cabeza de impresion, y se determina un valor de OD de referencia de un histograma de valor de OD de la imagen impresa. Se selecciona un ancho de impulso de precalentamiento basándose en los valores de OD de n imágenes impresas obtenidas cambiando el ancho del impulso de precalentamiento n veces y el valor de OD de referencia, de tal manera que un valor de OD en cada elemento de impresion es igual o semejante al valor de OD de referencia. Por ejemplo, suponiendo que el valor de referencia es de 0.43, un ancho de impulso de precalentamiento en el elemento de impresion numero 3 es de 0.875 microsegundo.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for correcting printing characteristics of a full-line printhead, and producing a high-printing quality printhead at high manufacturing yield, a corrected printhead by this apparatus, and a printer employing this printhead. According to this method, an image is printed on a printing medium by using double pulses obtained based on fluctuation of resistance of each printing unit of a printhead, and a reference OD value is determined from an OD value histogram of the printed image. A preheating pulse width is selected, based on OD values of n printed images obtained by changing the preheating pulse width n times and the reference OD value, such that an OD value on each printing element is equal or close to the reference OD value. For example, assuming that the reference value is 0.43, a preheating pulse width on printing element No. 3 is 0.875 .mu. sec.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate deviation in the machining dimensions and pitch of holes and trenches and occurrence of bur around an ejection opening while keeping a desired size of the holes and trenches without increasing the machining time by varying the energy density per unit time of laser light being projected to a work. SOLUTION: A work W is trenched or bored by projecting a laser light L while varying the energy density thereof per unit time. For example, a laser light L having a high energy density per unit time is employed until completion of trenching an ink channel or boring a liquid ejection opening and the energy density is lowered to a level causing no deformation of resin nor occurrence of bur immediately before completion of trenching or boring. According to the method, an ejection opening of desired size or a liquid channel of desired depth can be machined accurately.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid jet recording head in which a liquid channel and a jet port can be machined with high accuracy by evaluating the laser irradiation state and feeding back laser information and the operating rate of apparatus can be enhanced while reducing the cost. SOLUTION: When a liquid channel and a jet port are made in the resin top plate of a liquid jet recording head by laser machining, a liquid channel 23 being machined through irradiation with laser light 12 is observed and the image thereof is processed. The depth (d) of the liquid channel is measured simultaneously with machining alignment of jet port and compared with a preset standard value. Subsequently, the output state of current laser is recognized and evaluated based on the comparison results thus determining the correction quantity of laser irradiation energy for next machining. The information is fed back to a control section and a laser light source and the voltage being applied to the laser light source is regulated to emit a laser light 12 having an optimal irradiation energy density thus machining a jet port, or the like, with high accuracy.
