    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recording liquid excellent in water resistance, stick restorability and delivery stability, and capable of giving prints with high color development ad high deepness, containing an anionic dye with anionic group salt-formed by an alkali metal ion. SOLUTION: This recording liquid comprises an organic solvent, water and a carboxyl-contg. anionic dye with the anionic group bearing the form of salts selected from an alkali metal (including Li and Na) salt, ammonium salt, organic amine salt and alkanolamine salt and the alkali metal salt, ammonium or organic amine salt and alkanolamine salt accounting for 30-100%, 0-50% and 0-60% of the the number of the salt-formed anionic groups, respectively. The anionic dye is pref. a dye of formula I Pc is a metallophthalocyanine nucleus; R1 to R3 are each, an alkyl, etc.; X is carbonyl, of formula II [Z is NR4 R5 , SR6 (R4 to R6 are each H, an aralkyl, etc.), etc.], etc.; G is a COSH and/or COOH substituted colorless organic group; (t+q) is 3-4}.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an ink having excellent clogging-preventing effect by adding an organic amine salt of an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid and an alkanolamine to an ink and to provide an ink-jet recording method capable of recording on a plain paper by using the above ink. CONSTITUTION:The objective ink contains (A) a recording agent, (B) a liquid medium for dissolving or dispersing the component A, preferably a mixture of 30-95wt.% (based on the composition) of water and 1-40wt.% of a water-soluble organic solvent (e.g. triethanolamine), (C) 0.1-10wt.% of an organic amine salt of an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid (e.g. maleic acid triethanolamine salt) and (D) 0.1-15wt.% of a monoethanolamine (e.g. triethanolamine). The ink prepared by the above process is ejected by the action of thermal energy using an ink-jet recording apparatus furnished with an ink holder and a recording unit having a recording head to eject the ink in the form of ink droplets. A good record can be formed on a plain paper, etc., by this method.
