Abstract: The vehicle has a chassis including at least in its front part two longitudinal members of hollow cross section dividing the width of the vehicle into three parallel equal parts. The front wheels at least are independent and are attached to longitudinal torsion bars downwardly inclined from the rear to the front. The rear upper portions of the torsion bars are housed in the longitudinal members. The major portion of the floor is at the lower level of the longitudinal members. Four seats are arranged at the apices of a diamond, the foremost seat for the driver being the highest.

A elastic and sliding universal joint provided between each of two road-wheel driving half shafts 2 and final drive output shafts 1 in an automotive vehicle, comprises a sliding coupling and an elastic coupling in series, the sliding coupling comprising three radial pins carried by the shaft 2 and having mounted thereon, for free sliding and rotational movement, barrelshaped rollers 16 engaging straight, cylindrically contoured, grooves 15 in a casing 14, and the elastic coupling comprising three, or three pairs, of axially directed studs 4 screwed in a plate 3 of the shaft 1 and carrying elastomeric, e.g. synthetic rubber, sheaths 7 engaging, without play, recesses 12 in said casing. The studs 4 also clamp a brake disc 11 to the plate 3. The grooves 15 and the rollers 16 may have wear-resistant bushings. The sheaths 7 are double frusto-conical and are mounted on shouldered sleeves 5 which together with the sheaths are retained in pairs by strips 8 and nuts and washers 9, 10. The sheaths may be prestressed between the sleeves 5 and recesses 12, alternatively they may be cemented or cured on the sleeves or recesses. A leather or synthetic rubber dust-sealing bellows may be clamped over the shaft 2 and one side of the casing 14, the other side of which may be closed by a metal cover 21.

Abstract: A gasoline tank or like container is fastened to a vehicle, say to the lower surface of a floor-board, by means of yielding straps whose ends of which are secured to the floor-board or like support and engage in grooves formed in the side walls and bottom of the container in parallel vertical planes. C, engine in which the piston 7 is connected to hydraulic pump pistons 2, is fed with fuel from an injection pump which is hydraulically actuated towards the end of the compression stroke of the piston 7 by an extension 22 on the piston 2 entering a bore 21 displacing liquid which acts through passages 33, 34 and chamber 24 on a piston 23 having an extension 23b acting as a fuel injection pump to discharge fuel drawn in through inlet valve 27 to a passage in the member 16 housing an injection valve 20 loaded by a spring 40 and discharging into a combustion chamber 17 formed in the piston 7. Injection stops when piston 23a uncovers port 35. The return stroke of the piston 23 is ensured by incoming fuel pressure and spring 36 and is limited by an abutment 39 which is actuated through levers by a corresponding piston rod 50 on the opposite side of the engine as shown in Fig. 3. The piston 46 operates in a cylinder 47 connected by passage 48 to a chamber 45 which the piston 2 enters at the end of its stroke so that the piston 46 is moved inwardly thereby reducing the quantity of fuel injected. The passage surrounding the valve stem 19 is kept under pressure by reducing the diameter of the portion 37 of the piston 23 so that pressure in the cylinder 1 acts to bias the piston 23 in the direction of the pressure stroke. The hydraulic pump comprises inlet and outlet valves (3, 4 Fig. 1 not shown) each having an associated damping chamber (C). Each cylinder 1 has an accumulator (E).
