Abstract: A parcel delivery verification apparatus includes a processor communicatively connected to a notice actuator button, an optical sensor, an optical illumination device, an audio input device, an audio output device, and a non-transitory storage medium. The non-transitory storage medium stores a number of modules. The modules include an alert module, a send module, a receive module, and an output module. The alert module activates the apparatus when input is received from an input sensor. The send module sends, to a user operator, a text message. The text message notifies the user operator of an arriving parcel. The receive module receives a received text message from the user operator. The output module outputs a message based on the text message from the user operator.

Abstract: There is disclosed a secure remote actuation system that includes a network storing one or more acceptable inputs. The system also includes a central signal switch disposed inside an enclosure. The central signal switch stores therein the one or more acceptable inputs and user codes, which comprise a succession of the acceptable inputs. The system further includes a remote input receptor that, in turn, includes a user interface with a communication tilt plate that has a front side and a back side. The front side includes an outer touch surface. The back side includes electronic components mounted thereon, a raised center pivot and a plurality of spring loaded switches mounted thereon disposed around the periphery of the back side. As such, tilting the communication tilt plate by pressing proximate the periphery of the outer touch surface will activate two or more of the spring-loaded switches mounted on the back side of the tilt plate, thereby transmitting the one or more user codes. The system also includes a microcontroller for obtaining and comparing said one or more acceptable inputs to said one or more user codes. The system also includes a web application for receiving the one or more acceptable inputs and the user codes for a user. The web application is in electronic communication with the microcontroller and communicates information pertaining to recent user interactions with the secure remote actuation system to the user through the remote input receptor. The microcontroller obtains the one or more acceptable inputs from the network after the user begins to use the interface.

Abstract: An apparatus for protecting a delivered parcel is described. The apparatus includes a processor, communicatively connected to a network interface connection, a camera, and a non-transitory storage medium. The non-transitory storage medium includes a monitor module, a notice module, a parcel lock module, a detect module, an alert module, and a parcel unlock module. The monitor module monitors the field of vision of the camera for the placement of a parcel. The notice module notifies a control user associated with the apparatus that a parcel has arrived. The parcel lock module indicates that the parcel is being monitored for movement. The detect module detects movement of the parcel. The alert module alerts the control user when a parcel moves. The parcel unlock module indicate that the parcel is allowed to move.

Abstract: A fluid dispersal node is disclosed that includes one or more fluid outlets, an electromechanical valve, one or more hardware processors, hardware memory, a hardware wireless communication module, an antenna, and a fluid-tight, substantially radio frequency (RF) transparent enclosure. The valve is disposed in the node, and controls fluid flow to the outlets. The processors, in turn, control the valve. The wireless module receives instructions for operating the valve and forwards those instructions to one or more of the processors and the memory. The processors, memory, wireless module and antenna are disposed within the RF-transparent housing. In some embodiments, the antenna is disposed on a riser associated with the node outside the enclosure. In other embodiments, the antenna is disposed in a fluid line connected to the node.

Abstract: Methods for negotiating optimum parameters for communicating between a wireless control device and a wireless user device are disclosed. The methods generally include transmitting a frequency-hopped and spread negotiation signal using network-maximum parameters. The initial parameters make the negotiation signal long-range but low-data. The methods further include adjusting the initial parameters to optimal parameters based on a link budget and data rate requirements received in response to the negotiation signal. The signals are communicated on the 902-928 MHz unlicensed ISM band, and the parameters include spreading factor, output power, and carrier frequency channel bandwidth.

Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed that includes a battery-powered switch and a switch dock. The switch includes a microcontroller, a short range wireless transmitter, one or more tactile control buttons, and one or more magnetic prongs. The magnetic prongs are contained within prong slots in a switch body. The prongs are coupled at one end to at least one spring coupled to the switch body, and the spring exerts a retracting force on the prongs when the prongs extend outwards from the switch body. The dock includes one or more metallic holes, where the number of holes matches the number of prongs. The prongs extend from the switch body and fit in the holes when brought near enough to the holes that the holes exert a magnetic force on the prongs that is stronger than the retracting force exerted on the prongs by the spring.

Abstract: A cloud-networked stand-alone local area network (LAN) is disclosed. A stand-alone LAN is networked to a server outside the stand-alone LAN, and the server is part of a cloud of servers. The server includes hardware processors that process system operation information updates from a user for the stand-alone LAN, hardware memory that stores the system operation information updates; and a transceiver for communicating the system operation information updates to the stand-alone LAN. The stand-alone LAN includes a primary network hub (PNH) having a microcontroller that stores the system operation information, a cloud-side transceiver networked to the cloud of servers for receiving the system operation information updates from the server, and a PNH LAN long range transceiver that communicates via a long range spread spectrum or a narrowband frequency shift keying signal. The stand-alone LAN also includes a peripheral device having a microcontroller and an actuation mechanism.

Abstract: A secure remote operation and actuation system is described herein. The system may comprise one or more unmanned aerial vehicles, a remote input receptor, and a network. In some embodiments, the unmanned aerial vehicles form a collective remote unmanned aerial vehicle. The remote input receptor may comprise a user interface for receiving user inputs from a user. The network may comprise a combination of computer systems interconnected by telecommunications equipment or cables allowing information to be exchanged. The network may also comprise a network device for obtaining the user inputs from the remote input receptor. One or more acceptable inputs may be stored on the network. In the present invention, the network device obtains the user inputs from the remote input receptor while the user is using the user interface and then the network compares the user inputs to the acceptable inputs.
