    Abstract: A s t r a c t The invention relates to early-rain-resistant jointing compounds containing - aqueous polymer dispersions (I) - nonionic cellulose ethers (II) from the group consist ing of hydroxyethyl, hydroxyethyl methyl, hydroxypropyl methyl and hydroxypropyl cellulose - optionally typical additives, such as fillers, pig ments, plasticizers, extenders, thickeners, foam inhibitors, dispersion aids, pH regulators, preservatives and antiagers and - at least one organic liquid component from the group of typical additives, which can be produced by thorough mixing of (I) with the other constituents. To be able to introduce (II) in quantities above the solubility limit, the jointing compounds are characterized in that (II) is added and mixed in retarded and/or non-retarded form in suspension in the liquid organic component.

    Abstract: (1) Joint sealing cpds. (I) with early rain resistance are claimed, contg. aq. polymer dispersions (II), non-ionic cellulose ethers (III) (hydroxyethyl-, hydroxyethylmethyl-, hydroxypropylmethyl- or hydroxypropyl-cellulose), fillers and possibly conventional additives, such as pigments, plasticisers, extenders, thickeners, foam suppressants, dispersants, pH regulators, preservatives and anti-ageing additives, and produced by mixing (II) with the other components. (III) is added and mixed in retarded form as a mixt. with the fillers. (2) Process comprises adding a fine dispersion of (III) in the filler to the polymer dispersion (II), mixing thoroughly, and then adding the pH regulators (esp. bases); the other additives are incorporated before and/or after addn. of the filler as required. (I) contain 25-90 wt.% (I) (pref. 25-40 wt.% in highly-filled prods.), 2-60 (pref. 35-60) wt.% filler, 0-1 (pref. 0.3-0.5) wt.% wetting agent, 0-20 (pref. 5-15) wt.% plasticiser, 0-10 (pref. 4-6) wt.% other additives (e.g.thickeners, foam suppressants and pigments) and up to 1.5 wt.% (III)).

    Abstract: Joint sealing cpds. Process comprises mixing the usual additives (except the pH regulator) with (II), adding the aq. slurry of (III), then incorporating the filler and the pH regulator. (II) contain film-forming polyacrylates and/or acrylate copolymers, EVA, butadiene-styrene, vinyl acetate/maleic ester, silicone, urethane, vinyl acetate/methacrylic acid/chloroprene or -isoprene polymers or copolymers, or polysulphides. 25-90 wt.% (II) (pref. 25-40 wt.%; in highly filled prods.), 0-60 (pref. 2-60 wt.% filler, 0-1 (pref. 0.3-0.5) wt.% wetting agent, 0-20 (pref. 5-15) wt.% plasticiser, 0-10 (pref. 4-6) wt.% other additives (e.g. thickeners, foam suppressants and pigments) and up to 1.5 wt.% (III).
