Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an injection moldable bearing composition which has excellent friction and wear characteristics, good configuration stability against a high dynamic load, excellent durability, by forming the titled composition by a predetermined range of blending quantity of a thermoplastic resin, PTFE powder and GF and setting the ratio of the average particle diameter of PTFE to the average fiber length to 1:10-4:1. CONSTITUTION:The titled composition consists of a thermoplastic resin (a), a polytetrafluoroethylene powder (b) and a glass fiber (c), and (a) is set to 30- 85wt%, (b) to 10-60wt% and (c) to 5-60wt%. Further, the ratio between the average particle diameter of (b) and the average fiber length of (c) is selected to 1:10-4:1. When the ratio between the particle diameter of PTFE powder and the average fiber length of the glass fiber is less than 1:10 or exceeds 4:1, dropout of the PTFE particle under the high dynamic load is remarkable, the configuration stability is lowered and the object of the present invention cannot be accomplished.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a fiber, having improved antistatic properties, fiber quality, appearance, fastness to heat, light and washing and stability, by dispersing a polyethylene oxide as an antistatic agent in an aromatic polyester finely in a specific state. CONSTITUTION:Spinning materials of (A) a fiber-forming aromatic polyester, preferably a modified polyethylene terephthalate containing 2-10wt% copolymerized polyalkylene oxide, and (B) a polyethylene oxide, preferably a copolymer with a polyester, are joined at a point J1, divided at a point S1, rejoined at a point J2 and divided at a point S2, and the mixing operations are repeated in a multilayering and mixing vessel. The materials (A) and (B) are then spun to give the aimed fiber in which the component (B) is finely dispersed and mixed in the component (A) and at least partly continuous in the long direction of the fiber, and the component (B) is dispersed into many spots having a diameter

Abstract: PURPOSE:Cured novolak fiber is sulfonated, and treated with strong alkali, thus producing fibers adsorbing heavy metal, especially capable of adsorbing uranium compounds with high selectivity. CONSTITUTION:A novolak resin, e.g., phenol-formaldehyde condensate, is melt spun and the fiber is cured with formaldehyde to give cured novolak fiber. The sulfonation of the fiber is conducted using conc. sulfuric acid or fuming sulfuric acid at 50-200 deg.C, 5-300 bath ratio and then the resulting fiber is treated with a strong alkali, preferably higher than 80% alkali metal hydroxide and/or quarternary ammonium hydroxide at 100-350 deg.C and 3-300 bath ratio to give the objective fiber adsorbing heavy metals. The amount of remaining sulfonate groups is 0-3meq and the remaining rate is preferably 10-90%. The capacity of the fiber adsorbing uranium is usually 1-10mg/g.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a polyester excellent in hue and heat stability, by polycondensing an ester of an alkylene glycol with a terephthalic acid-based dicarboxylic acid and/or a precondensate of said ester in the presence of a niobic acid. CONSTITUTION:A polycondensation catalyst is obtained by heating niobic acid, obtained by subjecting a niobate to alkali fusion, extracting the product with hot water, acidifying the obtained aqueous solution with a strong acid, separating and water-washing the formed precipitate, to 80-400 deg.C. An ester of an alkylene glycol with a dicarboxylic acid containing at least 80mol% terephthalic acid and/or a precondensate of said ester is polycondensed at 250-290 deg.C in the presence of 0.001-0.2wt%, based on the acid component of the polyester, said polycondensation catalyst.
