Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a bleaching agent composition which has an excellent bleaching effect, does not cause environmental pollution, and is free from bleaching inhibition, etc., by incorporating a specific nitrile compound as a bleaching activator. CONSTITUTION:A nitrile compound (a) represented by formula I (wherein X is a substituent having a Taft's sigma value of 0.5 or higher) (e.g. formula II or III) is mixed as a bleaching activator with a peroxide, e.g. hydrogen peroxide or sodium percarbonate. Other necessary ingredients such as an inorganic builder (e.g. sodium carbonate) and an organic builder (e.g. an ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid salt) are added to produce the bleaching agent composition. Since the compound (a) reacts with the hydrogen peroxide in an aqueous solution to generate a perimidic acid, which enhances bleaching, a higher bleaching ability than with hydrogen peroxide only is obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an anionic activator aq. soln. which is stable with time and uniformly transparent by treating the anionic activator aq. soln. in the specified conditions in the presence of a filter aid or an adsorbent of the specified quantity and thereafter filtering the turbidity precipitate. CONSTITUTION:>=0.1wt% filter aid (e.g. diatomaceous filter aid or the like) or an adsorbent is added to an anionic activator aq. soln. (e.g. a metallic salt aq. soln. of alkylarylsulfonate or the like) and the mixture is regulated to 8-10pH and held at >=75 deg.C for >=1hr preferably >=2hr and thereafter filtered by a pressurized filtering method. In this filtered anionic activator aq. soln., a turbidity precipitator is not produced in a long-term preservation and a uniformly transparent liquid is maintained. Still more the conditions such as the addition of the filter aid or the adsorbent, the regulation of pH and the heating at >=75 deg.C may be performed in any order.

SOLUTION: This softening and finishing agent composition is obtained by compounding a nonionic compound containing at least a 5-36C alkyl group or a 5-36C alkenyl group and having amide bond, e.g. a compound represented by the formula [R1 is a 5-35C alkyl or a 5-35C alkenyl; R2 is H or COR1; R3 is H or a 1-3C alkyl, a 1-3C hydroxyalkyl or the like; A is ethylene or propylene; (n) and (m) are each a number of 1-100] with a cationic surfactant or an amphoteric surfactant having a 5-36C alkyl, a 5-36C alkenyl, aryl or the like in a weight ratio within the range of (1/9) to (9/1). A sheetlike carrier such as a nonwoven fabric is impregnated with the resultant composition to afford a sheetlike softening agent for a dryer.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bleaching agent compsn. which exhibits a high bleaching performance without causing damage to fibers or decoloration of a dye by incorporating a specific cobalt compd. and hydrogen peroxide (or a peroxide which releases hydrogen peroxide in an aq. soln.) into the composition. SOLUTION: A cobalt compd. of the formula: [Co(M)m(B)b(T)t(Q)q(P)p(H)h]Yy having a particle size of 100-1,000 μm in an amount of 0.0001-5.0 wt.%, pref. 0.001-1.0 wt.%, and hydrogen peroxide (or a peroxide which releases hydrogen peroxide in an aq. soln.) in an amt. of 0.01 wt.% or lower in terms of effective oxygen are incorporated. In the formula, M is a monodentate ligand; B is a bidentate ligand; T is a tridentate ligand; Q is a tetradentate ligand; P is a pentadentate ligand; H is a hexadentate ligand; (m) is 0-6; (b) is 0-3; (t) is 0-2; (q) is 0-1; (h) is 0-1; m+2b+3t+4q+5p+6h=6; Y is a counter ion; (y) is the number necessary to neutralize the total charge; and when a plurality of M, B, or T ligands are present, they may the same or be different from each other.

The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a hydroxybenzoic acid derivative of formula II [(m) is 1-3 and a number equal to (h+i); R ' is an alkoxy of OR , an amino, etc.) with an acylating agent. Carboxylic acid anhydride is especially preferably used as the acylating agent. Reaction selectivity of phenolic hydroxyl group with an acylating agent is remarkably improved and the compound of formulas I is inexpensively obtained in high purity, selectivity and efficiency by carrying out acylation.

SOLUTION: This compound of formula I (R , R , R are each a 1-4C alkyl, etc.; R , R are each H, a 1-36C alkyl, etc., wherein the sum of the numbers of the carbon atoms in R and R is each 8-36; A is a 2-3C alkylene; X is a cation; n is 1-6; m is 0-20). The compound of formula I is obtained by esterifying a hydroxy compound of formula II with a compound of the formula: Y-(CH2 )n - COOR (R is H, a 1-4C alkyl; Y is a halogen) and subsequently reacting the obtained halo ester with a tertiary amine. The compound of formula I can impart excellent flexibility to fibers and further excellent flexibility and smoothness to hair. A hair cosmetic can also be prepared, and the compound of formula I is herein added in an amount of 0.1-20wt.%.

The reducing agent in an amount of 0.05-10wt.% is added to the compound of the formula. The organic peracid precursor is reacted with hydrogen perioxide or hydrogen perioxide-generating substance to provide an organic peracid precursor producing an organic peracid.
