    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester resin composition excellent in impact resistance, rigidity, dimensional stability, molding processability, gloss and environmental characteristics, useful for sheets, etc., by incorporating a resin with a specific glass transition temperature in a blend of a polyester resin and a polyarylate resin.     Abstract: PURPOSE:To coat a specific water-absorbing resin powder with a cross-linker uniformly in a short time to impart excellent water absorption rate and gel strengths to the resin by placing the powder on a specific support and immersing the powder together with the support in a soln. contg. the cross-linker. CONSTITUTION:A water-absorbing carboxylated resin powder 11 is placed on a box-shaped support having many openings smaller than the particle size of the powder, lowered together with the support in the direction of the arrow A into a soln. 11 comprising water and/or a hydrophilic org. solvent and a cross-linker, a compd. having at least two carboxyl-reactive groups. immersed in the soln. for a specified time, and pulled up together with the support in the direction of the arrow B. Thus, the powder is coated with the cross-linker in a short time, giving a water-absorbing resin improved in the balance among water-absorption capacity, water-absorption rate, and gel strengths.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a tube container which is oil-resistant, not apt to deform and swell during preservation against oily contents for instance, excellent in heat-sealing ability after change of contents, easy to squeeze the contents up to the last, and large in the jointing force to unify the shell with the head. CONSTITUTION:A tube container is made joining the shell and the head. At least the innermost layer at the shell of this tube container has the glass transfer temperature Tg of about 50 deg.C or higher and it is made of an amorphous or low crystalline polyester resin having about 0.7eta or more of intrinsic viscosity. And the head of tube container is made of polyester resin having about 40 deg.C or below glass transfer temperature Tg.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title molding excellent in liquid repellency, stain resistance, releasability, etc., by adding a specified amount of a polymer having a specified perfluoroalkyl to a thermoplastic resin, molding the mixture, and heat-treating the molding. CONSTITUTION:A (meth)acrylic ester having a 5-16C perfluoroalkyl (e.g. formula I or II) is homopolymerized or copolymerized with a copolymerizable monomer (e.g. stearyl methacrylate) in the presence of a mercaptan compound of formula III (wherein (n) is 8-18). 0.1-5 pts.wt. obtained perfluoroalkylated polymer is added to 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic resin (e.g. polyethylene), and the mixture is well mixed. The obtained thermoplastic resin composition is molded and heat-treated at 70-130 deg.C to obtain a thermoplastic resin molding of excellent liquid repellency.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a polyacrylic ester with a narrow molecular-weight distribution and molecular-weight almost in agreement with the theoretical value by polymerizing an acrylate using a specified aluminum porphyrin complex as an initiator. CONSTITUTION:An acrylic ester (e.g., methyl acrylate or hexafluoroisopropyl acrylate) is polymerized normally under an inert gas such as nitrogen or helium and using, as an initiator, an aluminum porphyrin complex of the formula (R1 and R2 are H or 1-10C hydrocarbon; R3 is H or 1-20C hydrocarbon which may have functional groups such as halogen, alkoxy or ester; X is enolate or thiolate) and a solvent such as benzene or THF.
