    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject medicine effective for patients with acute and chronic renal insufficiency, receiving hemodialysis and reduced in liver function, having a new action, by using a specific resin as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This reducing agent comprises an acrylic water-absorbing resin as an active ingredient. An alkaline earth metal acrylate- or methacrylate-based polymer or a self cross-linking type metal acrylate-based polymer is preferable as the acrylic water-absorbing resin. Preferably, these metal salts comprise at least partially a calcium ion (with the proviso that a potassium salt is omitted in the case of a potassium ion adsorbent). The medicine reduces a guanidine compound accumulated in the body of a patient, discharges the compound out of the body together with water accumulated in the body without by hemodialysis and also potassium ion accumulated in the body.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a water-based manicure cosmetic having excellent adhesivity, water-resistance, abrasion resistance, etc., and containing water as main component to be substitute for manicures using organic solvents by using a cationic polymer emulsion as an essential component. CONSTITUTION:The objective manicure cosmetic is produced by using 5-60wt.% (in terms of solid) of a polymer emulsion produced by polymerizing a monomer having a basic nitrogen atom and a polymerizable double bond and properly compounding pigment, dye, antiseptic agent, perfumery, plasticizer, thickener, wetting agent, etc. It can be used as a nail enamel, nail enamel base coat, nail enamel overcoat, etc. The cationic polymer emulsion preferably has a zeta-potential of +10 to 100mV and gives a coating film having a free energy of 30-50erg/cm .

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a water-based manicure, containing a specific aqueous composite polymer emulsion and excellent in gloss, adhesion, water resistance and film strength without any inflammability and smell of a solvent. CONSTITUTION:The objective water-based manicure, containing an aqueous composite polymer emulsion in an amount of 5-60wt.% expressed in terms of solid content and prepared by further suitably blending a pigment, dye, preservative, perfume, plasticizer, film-forming assistant, etc., therewith and preparing the manicure. The aqueous composite polymer emulsion used as a film-forming base has a multilayered structure composed of at least two layers of polymer particles having different chemical compositions and the polymer in the outermost layer has a lower softening temperature than that of the polymer in the inner layer. The aforementioned aqueous composite polymer emulsion is obtained by polymerizing a monomer having a salt-forming group with a monomer copolymerizable therewith and polymerizing a monomer having polymerizable double bond in the presence of the resultant aqueous vinyl resin.
