    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a controller for air-conditioner comprising an inverter wherein surge current flowing into an electrolytic capacitor is limited upon turn ON of inverter power supply, device for charging the electrolytic capacitor is reduced in size, useless power consumption is prevented and safety operation is ensured. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnetic contactor 2, an inverter control means 10', a voltage detecting means 11 and a relay driving means 12' are provided while furthermore a surge current limiting circuit 18 comprising a surge current limiting resistor 15, a relay 16 and a diode 17 is provided in order to limit surge current upon turn ON of power thus charging a capacitor smoothly.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate useless power consumption by providing a surge current limiting circuit connected through a current limiting resistor and a diode with a converter circuit, and a capacitor voltage detecting means, thereby detecting abnormality in the surge current limiting circuit. CONSTITUTION:A surge current limiting resistor 14 has one end connected with phase R of an AC commercial power supply and the other end connected with the common terminal of a contact 15a in a surge current limiting relay 15. NO terminal of the contact 15a is connected with the anode terminal of a diode 16 having cathode terminal connected with the positive pole of a capacitor 6. The contact 15b of the surge current limiting relay 15 has common terminal connected with phase S of the AC commercial power supply 1 and NO terminal connected with phase S input part of a converter circuit 3. An abnormality detecting means 18 receives an output signal S11 from a voltage detecting means 11 and a relay driving output S9 from an inverter control means 10 and detects abnormality such as failure of the current limiting relay 15.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration of comfortableness and the breakage of a compressor due to the performance deterioration of an air conditioner by comparing the piping temperature near the outlet of the compressor when a refrigerant is insufficient while the conditioner is operated for cooling with the piping temperature near the output of the compressor at normal time calculated through cycle simulation and accurately discriminating the insufficiency of the enclosed quantity of the refrigerant under all conditions of installation based on the correlation between the compared results and the quantity of the refrigerant enclosed in a refrigerating cycle. SOLUTION: An air conditioner is provided with an analyzing means 13 which simulates the refrigerating cycle characteristics of the air conditioner in a normal refrigerating cycle state at outdoor and indoor temperatures, an enclosed refrigerant quantity discriminating means 14 which discriminates the insufficiency of the enclosed quantity of the refrigerant based on the correlation between the piping temperature at the outlet of a compressor digitized by means of a temperature computing means 11 and the piping temperature at the outlet of the compressor at normal time calculated by means of the analyzing means 13, and a timer means 9 which periodically actuates the means 13 and 14. Therefore, the deterioration of comfortableness and the breakage of the compressor due to a decline in performance of the air conditioner can be prevented by accurately discriminating the insufficiency of the refrigerant under all conditions of installation.

When a thermal storage heat exchanger 8a is used at night, night thermal storage mode detecting means 16 detects the thermal storage mode for storing heat in the tank STR for next day. When the heating operation request is detected by indoor unit heating operation detecting means 17, combined operation deciding means 18 judges the need of the combined operation of thermal storage operation and heating operation. A thermal storage heat exchanger 8a is operated as a condenser by heat source side thermal storage circuit drive means 19, and an auxiliary heat exchanger 7a is operated as a condenser by heat source side refrigerant heat exchange circuit drive means 20.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To start a system efficiently by optimizing a refrigerant shunt of a utilization side refrigerating cycle at the start of a cooling/heat radiating operation in a heat storage type air conditioning equipment comprising a plurality of outdoor units and a heat storage cell. SOLUTION: A controller 21 is provided to detect a stagnation value of a refrigerant to a heat storage cell STR of a utilization side refrigerating cycle at the start of a cooling/heat radiating operation and determines by computation an upper limit value of the opening of a plurality of second flow rate valves RV2. A refrigerant shunt of the utilization side refrigerating cycle is optimized automatically at the start of the cooling/heat radiating operation. This eliminates insufficiency in the circulation quantity of the refrigerant to prevent a drop in the capacity of a heat source refrigerating cycle and to avoid the breakage of equipment thereby achieving a comfortable room environment as quickly as possible with efficient starting.
