Abstract: Contention-based uplink communications within a wireless communications system are provided in which a user equipment (UE) may transmit data to a base station autonomously, and thereby reduce delay with established procedures for allocating uplink resources to a UE. A base station may allocate contention-based uplink resources from a set of available uplink resources. A UE may determine that data is to be transmitted using contention-based uplink resources, identify available contention-based resources allocated by the base station, and may autonomously transmit the data using the allocated contentionbased resources. The contention-based uplink resources may include a subset of available physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) resources. The contention-based PUSCH resources may include allocated bins, and a UE may select CB-PUSCH resources from one of the bins for transmission of the uplink data.

Abstract: The subject technology provides for initiating a communication interface in a wireless communication system. In an embodiment, a neighbor node is discovered at an access point. The subject technology receives, via a network message in response to discovering the neighbor node, an address indication associated with the neighbor node for configuration of the communication interface. It is then determined whether to initiate one of a direct communication interface or indirect communication interface for communication with the neighbor node based on the address indication in the received network message.

Abstract: A method and apparatus provide for configuring WLAN measurements for unlicensed spectrum communications. The method and apparatus include receiving, at a network entity, a UE capability message and a reporting message from a UE, determining whether the UE is capable of communicating over the unlicensed spectrum and supports WLAN measurements based on the UE capability message and the reporting message, and transmitting, to the UE, a measurement configuration message including a measurement configuration identifier in accordance with the determination that the UE is capable of communicating over the unlicensed spectrum and supports WLAN measurements. The method and apparatus further include receiving, at a UE, a measurement configuration message and a measurement purpose message from a network entity, determining a measurement configuration of the UE based on the measurement purpose message, and performing one or more measurements for the one or more WLAN access points.

Abstract: Systems and methods for wireless communication are described herein. In one aspect, a method may include establishing, by a first base station, a connection to a User Equipment (UE) and identifying a second base station to which the UE can also connect, determining whether dual connectivity of the UE to the base stations is permitted, and selecting, based on the determining, handing over the UE to the second base station or initiating dual connectivity for the UE. In another aspect, a method may include receiving a request for modifying bearers routed via a first gateway node for dual connectivity of a UE to a master base station and a secondary base station, determining that the modification requires bearers to relocate to a second gateway node, and rejecting the request or relocating all bearers associated with the UE to the second gateway node, based on the determining.

To improve operation, the exclusive grant can be applied until it is determined that appropriate packets are transferred.
