    Abstract: PURPOSE:To form a curable composition having properties necessary for the material of optical disk bases and good productivity, by mixing a specified acetal compound with a specified mercapto compound, a specified reactive unsaturated compound and a polymethyl methacrylate resin. CONSTITUTION:This curable composition contains the following four components (a)-(d). (a): a compound having at least two unsaturated cycloacetal groups per molecule, (b): a compound having at least two mercapto groups per molecule, (c): a compound having at least two reactive unsaturated bonds per molecule, and (d): polymethyl methacrylate resin. As component (c), a bisphenol, an isocyanuric acid derivative, a triazine compound or the like is preferable in respect of the heat resistance and water resistance of the curable composition.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of a gap between a cavity and a molded body by moving the part of a mold so as to shrink the cavity, when high energy ray is radiated onto the hardening resin composition injected into the cavity of a mold and harden the resin composition. CONSTITUTION:A mold 1 is composed of a top force 2 and a bottom force 3, and a cavity 4 is formed in between the top and bottom forces. The window part 5 through which high energy ray can penetrate is provided on the top force 2. The window part 5 is composed of the first quartz glass plate 5a and the second quartz glass plate 5b, and the space between the first and the second quartz glasses becomes a cooling chamber 5c. In this process, while the hardening reaction of the composition is advanced by the radiation of high energy ray, the cavity 4 is caused to shrink so as to absorb the polymerization shrinkage of the composition. The shrinkage of the cavity 4 is achieved by energizing upward the bottom force 3 of the mold 1 with specified pressure, using the air cylinder of the molding device.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a curable composition which can give a transparent high- strength information recording disk, etc., by mixing an unsaturated cycloacetal group-containing compound with a mercapto group-containing compound and a compound having a triazine ring and a reactive unsaturated bond. CONSTITUTION:The purpose curable composition is obtained by mixing a compound (A) having at least two unsaturated cycloacetal groups in the molecule with a compound (B) having at least two mercapto groups in the molecule (e.g., dipentene dimercaptan) and a compound (C) having at least one triazine ring in the molecule and at least two reactive unsaturated bonds per triazine ring (e.g., N,N'-bisacryloylmethyl-N,N',N'',N'''-tetrakismethoxymethylmelamine). This curable composition can be suitably used as, e.g., a material for video disks.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a resin composition which is excellent in curability and can give a cured product having transparency and a high refractive index by mixing a compound having a specified aromatic sulfide group and two hydroxyl groups with a compound having a plurality of isocyanate groups. CONSTITUTION:A high-refractive index resin composition is obtained by mixing 4,4-bis[CO--hydropoly(oxyalkylene)thio]diphenyl sulfide of the formula (wherein m and n are each 1-5; and R is H or CH3) with a compound having at least two NCO groups in the molecule (e.g. hexamethylene diisocyanate). This composition excels in curability, and a resin prepared by curing it has transparency and a high refractive index, so that it is useful in industrial fields of optical materials, spectacle lenses, coating materials, sealing materials, paints, adhesives, etc., especially in the field of optical materials.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To carry out the uniform dyeing of plastic lens with favorable color tone by immersing and treating plastic lens in a dying solution prepared by adding a specific carrier to an aqueous disperse dye solution. CONSTITUTION:Plastic lens, esp. made from a low water-absorptive resin material containing aromatic ring and/or halogen element is immersed and treated at 50-100 deg.C for 5sec to 1hr or so in a dyeing bath containing a disperse dye, formulated with a carrier consisting of a propylene glycol monomethyl ether of formula I R is 1-3C alkyl; R is CH2-CH(CH3) or CH2CH2CH2; (n) is 1-2) and/or compound of formula II [R and R are each H or 1-3C alkyl; R is of formula III or formula IV (R is H or 1-3C alkyl); where, R , R and R are not H at the same time; (m) is 1-2)] (e.g. 3-methoxy-1,2-propanediol), thus accomplishing the objective uniform dyeing of the lens. The lens thus dyed is suitable as sunglass, etc.
