    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a tough polyester film, comprising a liquid crystalline polyester, a liquid noncrystalline polyester and a fiberizing agent, having a high rigidity and a low oligomer content and contents of a thermal decomposition product and a gel material and useful for electrical insulation, etc. SOLUTION: This polyester film comprises (A) a liquid crystalline polyester, (B) a liquid noncrystalline polyester and (C) a fiberizing agent capable of substantially fiberizing the component (A). Furthermore, the component (C) is capable of forming the dispersion state of the component (A) in a film obtained by passing a raw material containing the components (A), (B) and (C) through the melt kneading at 10 to 10s shear rate into a fibrous form having >=10 aspect ratio L/D which is a ratio of the fiber length L to the fiber diameter D and is a synthetic oil, a mineral oil, an ether compound or a >=10C higher fatty acid and a metallic salt, etc., thereof. The component (C) is contained in an amount of 0.01-10wt.% in the polyester film and the fiber diameter D of the component (A) is preferably 1μm. The component (A) preferably contains at least 15mol% ethylene terephthalate unit.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To enhance thermal dimensional stability, output characteristics and edge damage resistance by setting a degree of crystallization to a specific ratio or more. CONSTITUTION: A biaxially oriented polyester is based on polyethylene-2,6- naphthalene dicarboxylate and the degree of crystallization thereof is set to 40% or more. When the degree of crystallization is below 40%, sufficient thermal dimensional stability and edge damage resistant are not obtained. As a method bringing the degree of crystallization to 40% or more, a method enhancing the degree of crystallization by 2% or more by irradiating a film with infrared rays is pref. and this method is pref. performed in a winder process or a slitting process. The elastic modulus of the film in at least one of longitudinal and lateral directions is pref. 900kg/mm or more from an aspect of output characteristics and edge damage resistance and the number H3 of surface rough projections is pref. 10/100cm or less. In a case of a two-layered structure of an A-layer and a B-layer, the B-layer is the above mentioned film 4 and, when the A-layer contains particles, the thickness (t) of the A-layer and an average particle size (d) of particles satisfy a relational expression of 0.2

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a biaxially oriented polyester film which is highly elastic, excellent in surface flatness and suitable for magnetic recording medium by using a polyester chip wherein its polyester fine content is small and its intrinsic viscosity is high. CONSTITUTION: A biaxially oriented polyester film is composed of polyester of 0.7-3.0 (dl/g) intrinsic viscosity [3h]. Its rupture elongation A is at most 200%, and the relation between rupture elongation A and elastic modulus satisfies the expression B>=-1110×log (A)+2850. Thereby, after cooling the obtain polyester under nitrogen gas flow, it is charged into methanol. After sufficiently stirring, it is filtered by using a 50mesh filter. By drying chips on the filter, polyester as the target is obtained.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyester film low in heat shrinkage factor and capable of being widely put to practical use as a polyester film suitable for a magnetic recording medium, a printing ribbon, a condenser or packing.
