    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance capacity, and to improve the output characteristic, the cycle characteristic, and the safety by sealing a negative electrode, containing at least a carbon as the active substance, a separator, and the non-aqueous solvent electrolyte in a battery can to assemble a battery, and then, successively achieving preliminary charging/discharging, aging, and the regular charging. SOLUTION: Preliminary charging/discharging is preferably started 8-48 hours after a battery has been manufactured. The reason for this is that the battery immediately after it has been manufactured, is high in electric potential of a negative electrode, the copper ion is dissolved from a negative electrode current collector, and the iron ion is dissolved from a can into the electrolyte, the capacity of the battery is reduced, and the negative electrode electric potential is made to lower through the charging. The preliminary charging/discharging current is =1 hour, and the charging/ discharging capacity in aging is 40-100% of the total charge quantity in regular permanent charging.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure high capacity and improvement in cycle characteristics by specifying a structure of a carbon body employed for an electrode. SOLUTION: In an electrode, a non-crystal carbon body and a crystal carbon powder are employed by mixing them at a proper rate; however, their structure is specified so as to satisfy the following requirements. In a non-crystal carbon body, a weight rate of a carbon having its lamination structure is 0.54 or more and less than 0.85, and a thickness (Lc) of a crystalline is 1.0nm or more and 2.0nm or less, and a total nitrate atom rate against a total carbon atom is 0.005 or more and 0.055 or less. As a specific non-crystal carbon body, it is preferable to powder a PAN-based carbon fiber or the like to be obtained from a poly acrylic nitryl. In addition, the carbon body has the structure in which a crystal carbon powder is 0.34nm or less in a inter-layer distance, and a value of the Lc is 20nm or more and 100nm or less. Specifically, natural graphite, artificial graphite or the like is preferably employed.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a secondary battery excellent in the discharge capacity characteristic at a high output by specifying the ratio of the volume of the portion at the specific thickness or below from the surface of an electrode material against the volume of the electrode material having the prescribed thickness or above in a sheet-like electrode. SOLUTION: The discharge capacity for the unit weight at a high output is decreased when the thickness of an electrode material becomes 20μm or above as shown in the Fig. The thickness of the electrode material effective for the high-output discharge capacity as a battery is 40μm as shown in the Fig. When the thickness of the electrode material is 20μm or above and an electrode has the structure satisfying the relational expression (X/V)×100>=60%, it is suitable for a high-output discharge, where V is the volume of the electrode material and X is the volume of the portion at the thickness of 40μm or below from the surface of the electrode material. When the electrode surface is made an irregular face, the electrode surface area is increased, the ion diffusion into the electrode is accelerated, and the discharge characteristic can be further improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To achieve higher accuracy, a smaller size and an inexpensive production as well as high stability of outputs. CONSTITUTION:A hunmidity sensor contains an alkali metal ion transmitting solid electrolyte 1, a detection electrode 2 formed in contact with one 1a of the alkali metal ion transmitting solid electrolyte 1, an oxygen ion transmitting solid electrolyte 3 arranged by joining one end 3a of the alkali metal ion transmitting solid electrolyte 1 to the other end 1b thereof and a reference electrode 4 formed in contact with the other end 3b of the oxygen ion transmitting solid electrolyte 3. The alkali metal ion transmitting solid electrolyte 1 detects a change in moisture and the oxygen ion transmitting solid electrolyte 3 does not detect the change in the moisure and hence, the combination of the both enables measurement of the moisture. This achieves high stability of outputs from a sensor and also does a higher accuracy, a smaller size and inexpensive production.
