Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent reduction in strength of prepared polyester yarn, by melting, extruding and solidifying a polyester showing specific melt viscosity, and by setting the distance from the spinneret face to the inlet of a heating zone through which the polyester yarn is passed to be subjected to heat drawing. CONSTITUTION:A polyester polymer having >=5,000 (poise) viscosity measured by a melt indexer at 290 deg.C is melted, extruded, solidified, passed through a heating zone such as heating column, etc., and thermally drawn. The distance from the inlet of the heating zone to the spinneret face is >=3.5m, preferably >=5.5m, and polyester yarn having >=4g/d strength is obtained.

CONSTITUTION:The aimed yarn of core-sheath type yarn comprising a polyester having ethylene terephthalate as a main repeating unit, wherein the sheath contains (A) 0.005-2pts.wt. fine particles having 0.05-3mu average particle diameter, and (B)=1pt.wt.-=(60-R)/2pts.wt. [R is ratio of crosssectional area of sheath to that of filament (%)] 34-65C higher aliphatic monocarboxylic acid ester (preferably cetyl montanate, etc.) based on 100pts.wt. polyester, and R is made into 1-30%.

Abstract: PURPOSE:A modified polymer which is obtained by copolymerizing specific amounts of a metal-sulfonated isophthalic acid and specific glycol is melt- extruded through nozzles having several lobes under specific conditions, then drawn to give the titled fibers dyeable with basic dyes and resistant to alkali. CONSTITUTION:A modified polyester that contains, as copolymerization components, 1.0-2.0mol% of isophthalic acid bearing a metal sulfonate group and 0.5- 1.9wt% of glycol of 400-6,000 molecular weight and has a polymerization degree of 82-105 is melt-extruded through tri- to penta-lobal nozzles under such conditions as equations I -IV (Q is throughput in g/min.hole) are satisfied, then drawn to give the objective fiber with a polymerization degree of 80-100 and a tenacity of more than 4.0g/de. The glycol component of 400-6,000 molecular weight is preferably polyalkylene glycol.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled uniform fiber having high strength, stably, by meltspinning a polymer through a spinneret, cooling below the glass transition temperature, drawing in a hot gas stream having a specific flow rate in a hot zone keeping a specific wall temperature of the hot zone and specific temperature of the hot gas, and winding at a high speed. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic polyester polymer is subjected to the melt spinning through a spinneret, and cooled to a temperature below the glass transition temperature. The obtined yarn Y is transferred through a hot zone to effect the thermal drawing in the zone. In the above process, the heating cylinder 1 is furnished with plural small holes 3 and a hot-gas-supplying part 2 surrounding said holes 3, and the heating zone is heated with the electric heater 4. Hot gas satisfying the fomrula 10 70, TA>70, Tw-100 =3,000m/min to obtain the objective fiber.

In the adove process, the heating cylinder 1 is furnished with plural small holes 3 and a hot-gas-supplying part 2 surrounding said holes 3, and the heating zone is heated with the electric heater 4. Hot gas satisfying the formula T>=Tg+10 [T is the temperature of the hot gas ( deg.C), and Tg is the glass transition temperature of the polymer] and the formula 0.6F =3,000m/min to obtain the objective fiber.
