    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable quick and highly sensitive detection and also preliminary preparation and preservation of a capillary tube with reagent therein by a method wherein a reagent for immune agglutination reaction is injected into the capillary tube, frozen and dried and are mixed with a solution to be analyzed, and then the capillary tube is laid horizontally in a stationary state to observe the state of agglutination. CONSTITUTION:A reagent (an antibody for an antigen, an antigen for an antibody, etc.) agglutinating in peculiar reaction to a substance to be measured (an antigen, an antibody, a complement component, etc.) is injected, as it is, into a capillary tube (a glass or plastic tube) having the inside diameter of 0.5-5mm. and the length of 50-100mm., or a reagent for immune agglutination reaction fixed on a carrier such as a glass or plastic grain or a red corpuscle is injected therein. Then it is frozen and dried in liquid nitrogen. The capillary tube, sealed up at both ends, can be preserved in the frozen state until an analysis is conducted. At the time of the analysis, the reagent dissolved or dispersed in water and then mixed with a solution to be analyzed or the four-times dilution thereof. Thereafter, the capillary tube is laid horizontally in a stationary state, and the state of agglutination thus generated is observed. When the agglutination (a) is present, the substance is positive, and when there is a state (b) that the reagent adheres to the wall of the tube, the substance is negative. Thus, the detection can be performed quickly and simply.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an inspection reagent by fixing an immunoactive substance with an amino group to a copolymer, having a diameter of 0.03-10mum, of glycidyl acrylate or glycidyl methacrylat and a water-soluble monomer with a carbon unsaturated double bond. CONSTITUTION:It is possible to vary within a range between 95:5 and 5:95 in mol ratio the ratio of the sum of glycidyl acrylate and glycidyl methacrylate in any ratio and the sum of water-soluble monomers such as 2-oxyethyl acrylate, 2-oxyethyl methacrylate or the like. An immunoactive substance is fixed on a carrier particle by means of the covalent bond produced through the reaction between the amino group of the substance and the free epoxy group on the particle surface. The immunoactive substance-fixed particle thus produced is stable to a specimen body fluid, so that a nonspecific agglutination hardly takes place and there is no nonspecific adhesion to cells.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to selectively remove activated macrophage playing a central role in excess production of inflammatory cytokinins, etc., by using a polymixin immobilized carrier in a body fluid purifying column for removing the activated macrophage. SOLUTION: The polymyxin immobilized carrier is used in the column for removing the activated macrophage, more particularly CD16 antigen positive microphage, CD14 antigen positive and CD16 antigen positive macrophage. The polymyxin is preferably a fibrous carrier as the carrier used as the antibiotic substance produced by Bacillus polymax. The component of the fibrous carrier preferably consists of a high molecular substance. Polystyrene fibers, crosslinked polystyrene fibers, etc., are useful as the high molecular substance. The carrier having a substituent immobilizing the polymyxin, for example, the fibrous carrier having the substituent selected from α-acyl halide, etc., is preferably used.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To hold an immunologic agglutination reagent stably and to make a decision speedily in tens of minutes by putting the agglutination reagent which is frozen and dried in a transparent pipe whose passage is narrowed down at one end. CONSTITUTION:An inspection pipe consists of the transparent pipe 3 whose passage is narrowed down at one end. The immunologic agglutination reagent which is frozen and dried is put in the pipe 3. The pipe is made of polystyrene, polyethylene, polypropylene, polycarbonate, etc. The diameter of the pipe 3 is not limited specially, but the internal diameter is preferably 1-5mm. The reagent 2 is formed by fixing a material to be bonded singularly to a material to be measured or the material to be measured on a carrier. Consequently, the agglutination reagent is held stably and speedy decision making is performed in tens of minutes.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To shorten the time required for hybrid and to improve hybrid effi ciency and labeling efficiency by forming a titled probe in such a manner that the heterologous single chain DNA fragments complementary with the different sections in the DNA or RNA to be detected are respectively labeled. CONSTITUTION:The heterologous single chain DNA fragments complementary with the different sections in the DNA or RNA to be detected consist respectively of the labeled plural heterologous DNA fragments. This DNA or RNA is the DNA or RNA derived from microorganisms such as hepatitis virus, AIDS virus, herpes virus and animal and vegetable cells in which the individual fragments have complementarity overall with the base sequence of DNA, RNA in a widest possible range. The resulted single chain can be labeled by an ordinary method. The DNA or RNA of the virus, etc., is detected by using this probe. Then, the time required for the hybrid is shortened and the hybrid efficiency and the labeling efficiency are improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable objective detection with a small quantiy of sample by determining quantitatively the flocculating state of pulverous particles from the comparison between the diffraction pattern measured by irradiating coherent light to the pulverous particles in a medium liquid and the diffraction pattern of the unflocculated sample. CONSTITUTION:The light beam from a laser light source 1 is irradiated via an aperture 3, etc. to a sample cell part 4 having a sample holding mechanism part 15 and the diffracted light thereof is formed an image as a diffraction pattern onto a conversing plane 6 by a Fourier transform lens 5. The intensity distribution thereof is measured by using a photoelectric tube 7 and the surface of the plane 6 is scanned by a scanning part 8 which is controlled by a scanning control part 10. The intensity distribution pattern is thus measured. The light intensity signal from the tube 7 is further processed by an amplifier filter 11 and is applied as the intensity signal of the diffraction pattern of a control part 12. The information of the position on the plane 6 detected by the tube 7 in the part 8 is applied to the part 12 where the pattern distribution is constituted again and the difference from a reference pattern is subjected to digitalizing processing.
