Abstract: PURPOSE:To fix the mask frame diagonal shaft and the stud pin fitting shaft of spring member with high accuracy and rigidity by securing the spring member obtained relatively simply through bending of board spring member to the diagonal section of mask frame section. CONSTITUTION:Spring member 21 is integrally formed from stainless steel of 0.4mm thick through bending where a pair of securing sections 31, 32 are extended in blade in the opposite directions from the opposite sides of planar board section 30 and bent to mask frame section 19 side. Supporting section 33 folded in the opposite direction from the folding direction of the securing sections 31, 32 is extended from upper side of the board section 30 while the tip 34 is bent in same direction thus to face the supporting hole 35 to be fitted with a stud pin 22 planted on the sidewall at respective diagonal section of panel 11 against said pin 22. The supporting section 33 is movable around the board section 30 where the angle (a) making against the tube axis 23 and the angle (b) between the beam 24 and the tube axis 23 are set such that 90 deg.>a>90 deg. -beta.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress color slippage due to thermal expansion of a shadow mask by arranging metal stripes along the openings on the shadow mask surface on the side of an electron gun while fixing only one part of the metal stripes in the longitudinal direction to the shadow mask. CONSTITUTION:Metal stripes 11 are arranged on the side of an electron gun of a shadow mask 2 with the slit type openings between the two openings along the array in the longitudinal arrangement direction of the openings. The length of said metalstripes 11 is made to be one of several parts in the longitudinal arrangement direction of the openings of the shadow mask 2, while each metal stripe 11 is fixed by welding to the shadow mask at its central part 12. A metal hard to be subjected to plastic deformation is used for a material of the metal stripes 11 while making its thickness to be smaller than the thickness of the shadow mask. The greater part of electron beams shooting against the shadow mask shoot against said metal stripes 11. At said time, the temperature of the metal stripes 11 rises to cause thermal expansion, while the end parts of the metal stripes freely move in the longitudinal direction so as to cause no domed deformation.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a cathode-ray tube having a glass panel excellent in mechanical strength by providing the specific relations in the thickness of glass among the vertical axis direction, horizontal axis direction and diagonal axis direction near the substantially rectangular frame of the glass panel face part.
