    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the lateral irregularities of a stripe phosphor layer or light absorbing layer. CONSTITUTION:In an exposing method for forming the phosphor screen of a color picture tube in which a zone shutter 30 having an opening long in the direction orthogonal to the arrangement direction of electron beam passing holes arranged through the bridge of a shadow mask 4 is arranged between the shadow mask 4 and a light source 20, and the phosphor screen is formed by a partial exposing method for moving the zone shutter 30 in the arrangement direction of the electron beam passing holes, the zone shutter is formed by combining a plurality of shutters 37a, 37b different in opening form and moving speed. The opening form obtained by the combination of the shutters is changed synchronously with the inclination of the light source.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To restrain the occurrence of rust for reducing a phosphor screen defect, and improve breakdown voltage characteristics of a color cathode-ray tube by electrically connecting a metal member having higher ionization tendency than iron to a support seat made of soft steel material. CONSTITUTION:A support seat 30 for positioning and supporting a panel 1 mainly comprises a soft steel material (iron material) as a base material, and the required section thereof is applied with paint. A part of the seat 30 is not applied with the paint, and the base material is exposed. Also, the lower side of the seat 30 is fitted with a metal block 36 (zinc block) mainly comprising zinc having higher ionization tendency than iron constituting the base material. In this case, when the block 36 having higher ionization tendency than iron as the constituent element of the seat 30 is electrically connected to the seat 30, the block 36 corrodes faster than the seat 30. Also, electrons generated at the time of the appearance of cation are supplied to the iron constituting the seat 30. As a result, the occurrence of rust on the seat 30 is restrained, thereby reducing a phosphor screen defect. At the same time, the breakdown voltage characteristics of a cathode-ray tube can be improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a color picture tube generating no color drift on a screen by exposing an exposed layer with the displacement of a shadow mask against a panel by the preset quantity in the downward direction when the color picture tube is operated with its tube axis kept horizontal. CONSTITUTION:A displacing means 40 is provided on an exposing device, and a photosensitive film 18 and a phosphor slurry layer formed on the inner face of a panel 1 are baked via a shadow mask 6. The shadow mask 6 is forcibly displaced by the preset quantity in the downward direction of the panel side 44a when a color picture tube is operated with its tube axis kept horizontal for exposure, thus a phosphor screen is formed. When the tube axis is made vertical (panel is made horizontal), the matching relationship between three-color phosphor dots of the phosphor screen and the shadow mask is drifted, but when the picture tube is incorporated in a television set with the tube axis kept horizontal, the positional relationship between the three-color phosphor dots of the phosphor screen and the shadow mask becomes the same state as that when the photosensitive film 18 and the phosphor screen slurry layer are baked, and a picture tube generating no color drift is obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide good reproductivity in fitting/removal of a shadow mask by forming the inner side face at each corner of a skirt of a panel with a smaller radius of curvature than that of the outer side face at the same part, and furnishing a panel pin on the diagonal of the panel at the inner side face of the same corner. CONSTITUTION:A plane 33 having a mounting surface 36 intersecting in right angle with the axis of a panel pin 10 is furnished at each corner of the skirt 2 of a panel 30, and the pin 10 is mounted at the mounting surface 36. At the time of forming a fluorescent screen, flow of excessive fluorescent substance slurry exhausted from the corner can be changed to prevent attachment of fluorescent substance to the pin 10. That is, the surface area of the mounting surface 36 can be set off wider, and the fluorescent substance slurry flows in such dispersion as going apart from the pin 10. A rudge is formed between the mounting surface 36 and each panel edge, and the fluorescent substance slurry flows concentrated on this part, that should prevent attachment of the fluorescent substance to the pin 10. This should prevent drop of the reproductivity in fitting of a shadow mask to be caused by attachment of fluorescent substance.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of longtime purity drift by fixing a spring member, which has a nearly V-shaped cross section and supports four corners of a mask frame, on the mask frame through a spacer. CONSTITUTION:When a color cathode-ray tube is operated and its temperature rises, almost no thermal expansion occurs at a shadow mask 18' part because this part is made of a material small in thermal expansion coefficiency, but a mask frame 19, extends peripherally to be disposed approximately near to a side wall of a panel 11 because it is large in thermal expansion coefficiency. Simultaneously, a spring member 30 with a V-shaped cross section is pressed and deformed, and a fixing part 33' facing the frame 19' of the member 30 is fixed on the frame 19' through a spacer 34, and besides a connection part of a fitting part 32' to the fixed part 33, is not in contact with the frame 19', and so the fixed part 33, is bent. Therefore, without thermal expansion of the frame 19, being propagated directly to the fitting part 32, part of the thermal expansion of the frame 19' is absorbed due to bending of the fixed part 33'. Resultingly, the amount wherein the mask 18' is shifted in the direction of the fluorescent screen 15 is decreased.

At this juncture, when a thermal expansion coefficient of the mask frame 17 at room temperature or in a range of 200 deg.C is set to alphaf, and that of the shadow mask 15 to alpham as well as an angle made between a movable piece part 22a of the elastic member 22 and a tube axis 20 is set to alpha and that made between an electron beam 24 and the tube axis 20 to beta, respectively, they should be set so as to satisfy a relationship of tan (alpha)>alpham/alphaf.tan(90-beta). And, displacement of the electron beam with thermal expansion in the shadow mask is restrained from occurring. Accordingly, a mislanding quantity is reduced, and reduction in chromatic aberration or the like is promotable.

Therefore, the longitudinal and transversal shockproofness in the plane of the glass panel 2 can be made equal. Thereby the shockproofness of the elastic holder 8 can be improved and the color picture tube excellent in the industrial mass productivity and the economic efficiency can be obtained.
