Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of preparing calcium carbonate coated calcium hydroxide particles by combining calcium hydroxide and dry ice in an acquiescent manner. The invention further relates to an apparatus for carrying out the method and to the use of the calcium carbonate coated calcium hydroxide particles of the method as filler for use with thermoplastics polymers.
Abstract:
A top-down substrate printing device for thin film printing is disclosed. In one aspect the device comprises a stage fixing a substrate in a top-down manner, a plurality of nozzles each of which has one end portion positioned below the stage to face the stage and including printing fluid therein, a vertical position controller controlling a distance between the substrate and the nozzles, and a horizontal position controller controlling positions of the substrate and contacts of the nozzles.
Abstract:
Provided is a steel strip stabilizing apparatus which allows shape correction and vibration suppression in a steel strip, particularly, plated steel strip, in a non-contact manner. The steel strip stabilizing apparatus includes an apparatus support body disposed on at least one side of a traveling steel strip and a steel strip stabilizing unit comprising a magnetic field generating pole disposed on the apparatus support body to face the steel strip and a pole expansion part configured to provide steel strip attraction force to a steel strip-side end of the magnetic field generating pole so as to allow shape correction or vibration suppression in the steel strip. The present invention increases the (electro)magnetic attraction force on the plated steel strip that passes through a plating bath, and thereby effectively ensures shape (curvature) correction or vibration suppression (damping) in the plated steel strip and prevents plating variations in the steel strip, and ultimately jrsakes it possible to improve the quality of the plating of the steel strip.
Abstract:
A coating apparatus and method are disclosed that applies a coating to a product in a uniform and controlled manner. The coating apparatus comprises a feeding stage, an optional pre-treatment stage, at least one coating stage and a finishing stage. The coating stage(s) comprise a coating material feeder and a coating device. The coating device includes an aperture conforming to the perimeter of a substrate to be coated in a first and second dimension. As the substrate passes through the aperture, coating material is applied in a uniform and consistent layer ranging from 0.001 inches to 0.250 inches. The coating material also back fills minor surface imperfections and blemishes on the substrate to achieve a consistent finish across the whole area where coating material is applied. The coating device includes first and second shell portions. The first shell portion has a concave surface surrounding the aperture portion. The concave surface allows for coating material to collect prior to deposition upon the surface of the substrate. The second shell has a substantially flat face and a mirror aperture that aligns with the aperture of the first shell. A groove is formed along the perimeter of the aperture to collect coating material for coating the object as it passes through the apertures of both shells.

Abstract:
An apparatus, process and distributor for providing thin, uniform coating of thixotropic materials on substrates, especially on cylinders. The distributor equally subdivides the coating composition from entry ports to a plurality of exit ports.
Abstract:
Apparatus for coating with a liquid a continuously travelling horizontal panel having a uniform or irregular surface, characterized by the provision of housing means including a flood coating compartment in which a massive quantity of liquid coating is deposited to a given depth upon the upper surface of the travelling panel, and an air doctoring compartment in which a large volume of high pressure air is angularly directed on the panel in a direction opposite to the direction of panel travel. The excess liquid coating in both compartments is directed laterally off the longitudinal edges of the panel and is collected by gravity in collector means arranged in the bottom of the housing beneath said compartments.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and compositions for the liquid-phase deposition (LPD) of thin films. The thin films can be coated onto the surface of porous components of electrochemical devices, such as battery electrodes. Embodiments of the present disclosure achieve a faster, safer, and more cost-effective means for forming uniform, conformal layers on non-planar microstructures than known methods. In one aspect, the methods and systems involve exposing the component to be coated to different liquid reagents in sequential processing steps, with optional intervening rinsing and drying steps. Processing may occur in a single reaction chamber or multiple reaction chambers.

Abstract:
Aspects of methods and apparatuses herein relate to making elastic laminates, and more particularly, methods and apparatuses for applying fluids onto elastic material positioned on an advancing substrate. The elastic material may be in various forms, such as for example, elastic strands, ribbons, and/or panels. Particular embodiments of the apparatuses and methods disclosed herein provide for the application of viscous fluids, such as adhesives, in pre-determined patterns to elastic material positioned on an advancing substrate.
