    Abstract: In a first coating step, low electrical conductivity is imparted to a coating surface 21 of a non-electrically conductive coating object 20 and a first paint film is formed by applying a charged first paint to the coating surface 21 with free ions being suppressed. In a second coating step, a second paint film is formed by applying a negatively-charged second paint to a surface of the first paint film with free ions being suppressed, before the first paint film dries.

    Abstract: There is provided a method for coating a metal substrate by the use of a polyvinylidene fluoride resin composition. The method comprises forming a coating film made of a melted resin composition on the surface of an undercoated metal substrate at a temperature of from 200.degree. to 350.degree. C., said resin composition containing a major amount of polyvinylidene fluoride and from 5 to 40% by weight of an inorganic filler based on the total weight of the resin composition; and precooling said coating film to a temperature T.sub.A and then keeping said coating film at the temperature T.sub.A for at least one minute, wherein said temperature T.sub.A (.degree.C.) satisfies the inequality:T.sub.C -10.degree.C..ltoreq.T.sub.A .ltoreq.T.sub.C +10.degree.C.,said T.sub.C (.degree.C.) being the crystallization temperature for the polyvinylidene fluoride.

    Abstract: a method and product relating to a powdered coated resinous article. The surface of the resinous article is sealed to resist the effects of gases released from the article during heating. The sealing layer may contain a lead silicate chromate additive. A conductive exterior surface is then formed on the article and subsequently a powder paint is applied to the article under the influence of an electrostatic field. The coating is then heated sufficiently to merge the particles into a continuous film. The powder coating may be acrylic, polyester or epoxy. The sealing and forming a conductive layer may be done in one operation.
