Abstract: An attachment clip (200) for a vehicle door latch assembly includes a first clip portion (102) with a first alignment member (118), a second clip portion (104) with a first alignment channel (122), and a resilient hinge (206) extending between the clip portions so as to allow the clip portions to close around an attachment member (40). The resilient hinge includes an alignment boss (228) integrally molded on the hinge and being disposed for engagement with one of the clip portions for forcing engagement upon closing of the clip portions.

Abstract: A secondary release mechanism for a vehicle hood latch has a pivotally mounted secondary latch which is rotatable between a latching position and a unlatching position and biased towards the latching position. A pivotally mounted release arm is rotatable between a retracted position, a deployed position and a releasing position and biased to the standby position. A pivotally mounted release lever is rotatable between a release position, a standby position and a retract position. The release lever has a cam surface for engaging a hood of the vehicle as the hood moves between the fully latched condition and a secondary latched condition responsively rotating the release lever between the standby position and the retract position. The release lever operably engages the secondary latch as the release lever rotates from the standby position to the release position. The release arm engages the release lever wherein responsive movement of the release lever between the standby position to the retract position responsively effects movement of the release arm between the deployed position and the retracted position and movement of the release arm from the deployed position to the releasing position responsively effects movement of the release lever rotating the secondary latch from the latching position to the unlatching position.

Abstract: A drive mechanism (14) for enabling driving and manual movement of a sliding side door (12). The assembly (14) has a track assembly (16) mounted to a vehicle body (10) at a predetermined height and a drive mechanism (18) mounted to the sliding side door (12) so as to be proximate to a door latching mechanism (19). The drive mechanism (18) has an input drive motor (22) driving an output gear assembly (24) engaging the track assembly (16) and a transmission gear assembly (23) with a sliding gear (50) which selectively couples the input drive motor (22) and an input gear assembly (23) to the output gear assembly (24) between an engaged position for driving movement or disengaged position for manual movement of the sliding side door (12). In this way, the slide side door (12) may be moved manually between open and closed positions without having to overcome the effort required of rotating the drive motor (22).

Abstract: An automated closure assembly (20) is disclosed for a motor vehicle (10). A lateral linkage is connected to the drive mechanism (25) receiving the rotational force and translates the rotational force of the drive mechanism into a linear force to move the door between the open position and an intermediate position between the open position and the closed position. The automated closure assembly also includes a secondary linkage that is connected to both the lateral linkage and the drive mechanism. The secondary linkage translates the rotational force into a linear force to move the door between the intermediate position and the open position such that the door is able to move to its open position past the opening within which the lateral linkage extends.

Abstract: An automation assembly is adapted to be connected to a door system of a moto r vehicle. The automation assembly is modular and includes a frame that is fixedly secured to the motor vehicle. A motor is fixedly secured to the fram e and adapted to receive power. The motor converts the power into a rotational output force. The motor includes a non-ferrous core. A set of pulleys and rollers are fixedly secured to the frame at predetermined positions to direc t the path of a continuous belt. The continuous belt is fixedly secured to the door system such that the motor moves the continuous belt and the door syste m bidirectionally between an open position and a closed position. Sensors are used to determine the position of the door, the speed thereof and whether th e door is being moved manually.
