Abstract: PURPOSE: A thin film type coil component and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce the direct current resistance and thus to reduce the line width and the thickness of a coil by stacking multiple coil layers, thereby increasing the number of turns of the coil and reducing the thickness. CONSTITUTION: A thin film type coil component includes a main body, a plurality of first outer electrodes which is formed on one side of the main body; and a plurality of second outer electrodes which are formed on the other side of the main body. The main body includes upper and lower plates (11, 16), an insulating layer which is formed between the upper and lower plates; a dual coil of which the first and second coils (33, 34) are wound in the same direction on the same plane. One end of the first and second coils is connected to the outer electrodes, and the other end of the first and second coils are connected to first and second centers (35, 36). Multiple coil layers are placed inside the insulation layer. The first and second coils are connected in parallel.
