Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for transmission in an OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) communication system are provided to transmit data by modulating the data transmitted to each repeater into signals with different amplitudes and different phases. A base station(100) selects a reference repeater(110) and a cooperation repeater(120) and then transmits data to the selected repeaters. The reference repeater receives the data from the base station, and modulates phase and signal amplitude of the data using a modulation coefficient corresponding to the reference repeater and then transmits the data to a destination terminal through space overlapping. The cooperation repeater receives the data from the base station, and modulates phase and signal amplitude of the data using a modulation coefficient corresponding to the cooperation repeater and then transmits the data to a destination terminal through space overlapping. A terminal(150) detects the data from the reference repeater and the cooperation repeater through maximum likelihood(ML) detection.

A liquid crystal display apparatus is provided to improve the lateral side visibility of the liquid crystal display apparatus and prevent the generation of an after-image. A liquid crystal display apparatus includes a substrate, a plurality of gate lines(121), a plurality of data lines(171), and a plurality of pixel electrodes(191). The plurality of gate lines are formed on the substrate and are neighboring each other. The plurality of data lines intersect to the plurality of gate lines. The plurality of pixel electrodes are formed on the substrate and include a first sub pixel electrode and a second sub pixel electrode. The plurality of pixel electrode, a plurality of connection members(81), and a plurality of contact assistant(82) are formed on a passivation layer. The pixel electrode has a first side and a second side.

A mother substrate for a display device is provided to intercept the static electricity transferred to an inspection pad through a static electricity distribution line, thereby preventing the badness of the mother substrate. Plural pixel members are defined by signal lines. An array detection member is formed at the peripheral area for encompassing the cell area with the formed pixel members and receives the test signals of the signal lines. A static electricity distribution line(300) is formed at the peripheral area and encompasses the cell area and the array detection member. The first dummy pixel patterns are formed between the array detection member and the static electricity distribution line. A static electricity member(400) connects the first dummy pixel patterns located in parallel to the static electricity distribution pattern. At least one or more static electricity members are formed and the static electricity member is any one among the static electricity diode, thin film transistor and metal line.

An apparatus for receiving digital broadcasting and a control method thereof are provided to download and execute applications of each channel by referring to AIT(application information table) of each channel when a channel map is not checked, thereby downloading the applications through user preference channels. An apparatus for receiving digital broadcasting comprises a broadcasting tuning part(10), a cable card(20), an additional data processing part(34), and a control part(60). The broadcasting tuning part receives broadcasting signals. The cable card decodes the broadcasting signal and performs user authentication. The additional data processing part includes channel maps using the additional data. The control part tunes monitor application containing channels and downloads/executes the monitor applications by referring to the channel maps and XAIT(extended application information table) when the channel map is checked, and downloads/executes the application of each channel, using AIT when the channel map is not checked.

An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to integrate a light sensing device into the LCD through the same process as a switching device installed in a pixel area, thereby reducing manufacturing costs. An LCD comprises a substrate(1), a gate line, a data line, a pixel electrode(90), a switching device, and a light sensing device. The switching device is installed in a pixel area and comprises a gate electrode(20) electrically connected with the gate line, a source electrode(51) electrically connected to the data line, and a drain electrode(52) electrically connected to the pixel electrode. The light sensing device is installed in the pixel area together with the pixel electrode and the switching device, and generates light leakage current in response to light radiated from the outside. The light sensing device comprises the followings. A second electrode is corresponded to a first electrode. Amorphous silicon layer are formed between the first and second electrodes, and doped in N and N+ types as being adjacent to the first and second electrodes.

A display substrate and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to use only two sheets of photo masks and perform exposing and developing processes only twice, thereby reducing the number of the whole processes and accordingly reducing process costs. A display substrate manufacturing method comprises the following steps of: forming a first conductive film on a substrate(1), and forming gate line(10), a gate terminal electrode(18), a gate electrode(11) and a first electrode(15) by patterning the first conductive film; forming a gate insulating film, a semiconductor film, an ohmic contact film and a second conductive film on the gate line; forming first photosensitive film patterns, having a first thickness and a second thickness thicker than the first thickness according to areas and exposing the gate terminal electrode, on the second conductive film; forming a data line(30), a data terminal electrode(38), a data electrode and a second electrode(35) by etching the second conductive film by using the first photosensitive film pattern as an etching mask; forming an ohmic contact film pattern, a semiconductor film pattern(22) and a gate insulating film pattern by etching the ohmic contact film, the semiconductor film and the gate insulating film by using the first photosensitive film pattern as the etching mask; forming a second photosensitive film pattern for exposing a part of the data electrode by removing the first photosensitive film pattern as much as the first thickness; forming source and drain electrodes(31,32), separated from each other, by etching the data electrode by using the second photosensitive film pattern as an etching mask; etching the ohmic contact film pattern exposed between the source electrode and the drain electrode; and forming a passivation film pattern for exposing the gate terminal electrode and the data terminal electrode on the data line.

An apparatus for transmission in an OFDM system includes a channel information receiver(100), a transmission rate allocator(102), and a scheduler(104). The channel information receiver(100) receives channel information. The transmission rate allocator(102) measures the variable transmission rate by using the channel information and the last transmission rate. The scheduler(104) allocates channel resources according to the variable transmission rate and the channel information.

A gate driver and a display apparatus having the same are provided to prevent an abnormal operation of a gate driver and the display apparatus by outputting a carry signal to a carry terminal irrespective of an abnormal gate signal. A gate driver includes plural stages. Each of the stages includes a pull-up unit(151), a carry unit(158), a pull-down unit(152), a pull-up driver(153), a ripple prevention unit(154), and a repair unit(155). The pull-up unit generates a current stage gate signal. The carry unit generates a current stage carry signal. The pull-down unit receives a next stage gate signal from one of next stages and discharges the current stage gate signal. The pull-up driver receives a previous stage gate signal from one of previous stages, turns on the pull-up and carry units, and turns off the pull-up and carry units in response to the next stage gate signal. The ripple prevention unit connected to an output electrode of the pull-up unit prevents a ripple of the current stage gate signal. The repair unit blocks supply of an abnormal signal from the output electrode of the pull-up unit to a control electrode of the carry unit.

A method and an apparatus for determining a pilot pattern in a broadband wireless access communication system are provided to reduce a signaling overhead by switching the pilot pattern in a frame unit. An apparatus for determining a pilot pattern in a broadband wireless access communication system includes an OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) demodulator(206) and a pilot pattern determining unit(200). The OFDM demodulator performs an FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) on a received signal and generates data in a frequency domain. The pilot pattern determining unit calculates a coherence bandwidth and a coherence time by using sub-carriers from the OFDM demodulator. The pilot pattern determining unit selects one of predetermined pilot patterns based on a ratio between the coherence bandwidth and the coherence time. An equalizer(210) compensates for channels of the sub-carriers from the OFDM demodulator and provides the compensated channel to the pilot pattern determining unit.

본 발명은 시공간 블록 부호화(STBC : Space-Time Block Code) 기법을 사용하는 직교주파수다중화방식의 이동통신시스템에서의 채널 추정 및 주기적 프리픽스 재생성 장치 및 방법에 관한 것이다. 이를 위해 본 발명의 실시 예에서는 채널 충격 응답 길이보다 짧은 주기적 프리픽스를 전송하는 직교주파수다중화방식의 이동통신시스템 또는 주기적 프리픽스를 전송하지 않는 직교주파수다중화방식의 이동통신시스템에서의 채널 추정 기법을 제안한다. 그리고 시공간 블록 부호화 기법을 사용하는 직교주파수다중화방식의 이동통신시스템에서의 테일 제거 과정과 순환 복구 과정을 통한 주기적 프리픽스 재 생성 방법을 제안한다. 한편 본 발명에서는 상기 주기적 프리픽스 재생성 방법을 제안함에 있어, 수신장치의 복잡도를 최소화 하기 위한 방안을 동시에 고려하도록 할 것이다. 마지막으로 본 발명의 실시 예로써 제안하는 채널 추정 기법을 본 발명에서 제안하는 주기적 프리픽스 재생성 방안을 결합시키는 기술을 제안한다.
