    Abstract: PURPOSE: An optical device and a fabrication method thereof are provided, which can improve a performance of an optical collimator and can make a packaging between the optical collimator and a filter easily, by optimizing a gap between a ferrule and a green lens. CONSTITUTION: An optical collimator comprises a ferrule(72) and a green lens(75) and a glass tube(73). An optical fiber(71) is embedded in the ferrule(72) and one end of the optical fiber is revealed. The green lens is separated from another end of the ferrule with a distance(d1), and another end of the green lens is projected. And the glass tube(73) surrounds the ferrule and one side of the green lens. A cylindrical metallic tube has an open part(95) and another side of the green lens is inserted into one side of the cylindrical metallic tube. And a thin film filter(91) is attached to a sealed surface of an inner side of the metallic tube by a glue.
