PURPOSE: An ONU(Optical Network Units) registration method in a GPON(Gigabit Passive Optical Network) system is provided to reduce uplink traffic buffering numbers of ONU in a service without changing software. CONSTITUTION: A GPON system transmits broadcast bandwidth allocation maps to plural ONU(310).The system receives plural first messages including serial numbers corresponding to the ONU from the ONU(320). The system respectively measures distance for the ONU(330). The system allocates identifiers to the ONU(340). The system transmits plural second messages including information related to the identifier and the distance to the ONU(350).

PURPOSE: A dynamic bandwidth allocation method and apparatus are provided to dynamically allocate bandwidth in consideration of SLA information and a queue critical value set according to the buffer size of a subscriber station. CONSTITUTION: An SLA(Service Level Agreement) parameter setting unit detects guaranteed bandwidth and information about transmission delay security time from SLA information(S400). An ONU(Optical Network Unit) queue size setting unit transfers a queue threshold value set according to the buffer size of the T-CONT queue of an ONU to the SLA parameter setting unit(S410). The SLA parameter setting unit produces the first allocation cycle of a 7 frame(S420). The SLA parameter setting unit calculates a second allocation cycle(S430). The SLA parameter setting unit offers an SLA service(S450).

PURPOSE: A time synchronizing apparatus for asymmetrical transmission link and method thereof are provided to prevent time synchronizing error in case IEEE 1588 PTP is applied to communication link and to prevent process delay due to the offset calculation of a process. CONSTITUTION: A message processing unit(330) calculates offset value between a master clock and a slave clock and has a message that is received from a cell controller. An offset filter unit(340) calculates the effective range of an offset value by using RTT(Round Trip Time) value. The offset filter unit filters the offset value to the calculated effective range. A time correcting unit(350) corrects the operation reference time of a base station by using the offset value.

PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for updating a terminal software in a network system are provided to rapidly update a terminal software between a communication server and plural terminals. CONSTITUTION: A message generating unit(710) generates at least one of a message for indicating the last portion of an image, a software activation request message and a software update termination message. The software activation request message is for applying an image of the terminal software transferred from the plural terminals. The software update termination message includes the update termination for the plural terminal, and a transfer window size determination unit(730) determines the size of the transmission window transferred from the plural terminals.

PURPOSE: An ONT(Optical Network Terminal) of a gigabit passive optical network and a frame treatment method of the ONT are provided to supply to subscribers an IPTV(Internet Protocol TeleVision) service for hundreds channels through downlink in an FTTH(Fiber-To-The Home) service network through a 10 Gbps GPON ONT device. CONSTITUTION: A demux(201) extracts a clock from a downlink electric signal of a photoelectric converter(200), and converts the electric signal into a parallel signal. A MUX(202) converts an uplink parallel electric signal into serial electric signal through the clock. An MAC(Media Access Control) block(203) has a protocol processing function of a GPON(Gigabit Passive Optical Network), and provides one transmission rate of two transmission rates for an uplink signal.

A method and an apparatus for providing a program guide in an IP(Internet Protocol)-based digital broadcasting service are provided to offer the program guide for selecting packets corresponding to the certain number of channels including broadcasting contents according to a searched result in which priority is added among IP packets and expressing the selected IP packet according to priority. A contents information detecting unit(110) detects contents information from an IP packet transmitted to a user, and stores the detected contents information. A contents search unit(120) searches broadcasting contents for which a user wishes from the IP packet by using the stored contents information, and determines the priority of the searched broadcasting contents. A contents selecting and synthesizing unit(130) selects a plurality of broadcasting contents including the broadcasting contents having the determined priority by using the searched result of the broadcasting contents, extracts the broadcasting contents included in the selected broadcasting channels, decodes and synthesizes the extracted broadcasting contents, and composes a program guide picture. A display unit(140) displays the composed program.
