    Abstract: NEW MATERIAL:A cyclic nitrogen-containing perfluoroalkyl iodide expressed by formula I (X is O or methylene; (m) is 0 is 1; (n) is 1 to 3). EXAMPLE:Perfluoro[1-(pyrrolidino)ethyl iodide]. USE:Useful as a synthetic raw material for fluorine-containing products, such as surfactants, agricultural chemicals or medicaments. Furthermore, the exemplified compound in the above-mentioned compounds has the ultraviolet absorption maximum shifted to the side of longer wave lengths and can be utilized as iodine optical dissociation laser (solar pumped laser). PREPARATION:A compound expressed by formula II (R f and R f are 1 to 5C perfluoroalkyl group and both may directly link, through O or N or, together with N to which both are bonded, form a heterocyclic ring; (n) is 1 to 3) is reacted with lithium iodide at 150 to 400 deg.C to afford a novel compound expressed by formula III.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To economically obtain the subject substance useful as a synthetic intermediate, etc., for surfactants, agricultural chemicals, medicaments, etc., from readily available raw materials in high yield by thermally reacting a perfluorocarboxylic acid fluoride with LiI. CONSTITUTION:A compound expressed by formula I (Rf is perfluorohydrocarbon group; (n) is 1-3) is reacted with LiI at 150 to 400 deg.C (preferably 180 to 230 deg.C) to afford a compound expressed by formula II ((m) is 1 to 3 and (n)>=(m)). The LiI is preferably anhydrous and the amount thereof used is selected from the range of 1.2 to 1.5mol if the compound expressed by formula I is a monobasic acid, 2.5 to 3.0mol in the case of a dibasic acid and 3.5 to 4.0mol in the case of a tribasic acid. In the case of the dibasic and tribasic acids, only a part of the fluorocarbonyl groups can be substituted with I by selecting the molar ratio to the LiI.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To simply produce perfluoro(3-dialkylaminopropionic acid fluoride) in a high yield by electrolyzing 3-dialkylaminopropionic ester in liq. hydrogen fluoride. CONSTITUTION:3-Dialkylaminopropionic ester represented by general formula I (where each of R1 and R2 is alkyl, R1 and R2 may be different from each other and R is alkyl) is electrolyzed in liq. hydrogen fluoride. The alkyl groups of the compd. are converted into perfluoroalkyl groups and perfluoro(3- dialkylaminopropionic acid fluoride) represented by formula II (where each or R'1 and R'2 is perfluoroalkyl and R'1 and R'2 may be different from each other) is obtd. This product is useful as an intermediate for synthesizing a fluorine-contg. product such as a surfactant, agricultural chemicals or pharmaceuticals or as a monomer for a fluorine-contg. high molecular compd.

The objective compound can be produced from an easily available raw material with an extremely simple process in high yield.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce the subject compound having high surface activity and good solubility and useful as a surfactant by composing the compound of an ethyleneimine-based oligomer (salt) having specific two kinds of recurring units. SOLUTION: This compound is produced by composing the compound of an ethyleneimine-based oligomer (salt) having (A) a recurring unit represented by formula I [Rf1 and Rf2 are each a 1-5C perfluoroalkyl and may be directly connected or connected through O or N to form a heterocyclic ring with N to which Rf1 and Rf2 are bound; (n) is 1 or 2] and (B) a recurring unit represented by formula II in preferably (0.1:99.9) to (10:90), more preferably (0.5:99.5) to (5:95) molar ratio of the components A to B and having preferably 100-3,000, more preferably 200-2,000 degree of polymerization. The compound is produced by reacting, e.g. a nitrogen-containing perfluorocarboxylic acid halide represented by formula III (X is a halogen) with a polyethyleneimine and then, as necessary, reacting an acid therewith.

As the hydropolyfluoro tertiary amine represented by the formula, preferably, bis(trifluoromethyl)-2-fluoroethylamine[(CF3)2NCH2CH2F] or bis (trifluoromethyl) ethylamine[(CF3)2NCH2CH3] is cited.
