    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the color liquid crystal display device equipped with a color filter which has superior spectrum characteristics for transmitting light in a specific range in the visible light range with high transmissivity and also has superior durability. CONSTITUTION:The color liquid crystal display device is constituted by sealing liquid crystal between at least a couple of electrode substrates; and at least one electrode substrate has a color filter where 2 or 3 or more kind of transparent colored images differing in hue are formed on a transparent substrate and one of the transparent colored images is formed of a film formation body if photosensitive resin wherein a pigment having spectral characteristics for transmitting the light in the specific range in the visible-light range is dispersed. Further, the transmittance in a light absorption area on the spectral characteristic curve of the visible-light area of the transparent colored image is 20% or less and the transmittance of the light transmission area is 50% or more.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a composition consisting of a specific transparent resin, being prescribed value or above in light transmittance in light transmitting area in spectral property curve of visible region after coating film formation, having excellent spectal properties, durability, light resistance and heat resis tance and useful for color liquid crystal display device, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition consisting of a transparent resin such as PVA into which a pigment (e.g. azo lake based or Milori blue) having spectral properties capable of transmitting light in specific visible light area, having particle size distribution being =1mum particle diameter and being >=60wt.% based on total particles in particles having 0.01-0.3mum particle diameter is dispersed and being =50wt.% in light transmittance of light transmitting area. Furthermore, the pigment is blended with the transparent resin at a ratio of 1/5 to 1/2 (expressed in terms of solid content).

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance the light resistance of the recording material and to stabilize both a decoloring state and a color developing state over a long period of time by using prescribed spirooxazines and a bivalent metal ion supplying material in combination. CONSTITUTION:This recording material is constituted by dispersing the spirooxazines (A) and the bivalent metal ion supplying material (B) into a thermoplastic resin film in such a manner that the components A, B form a colored chelate by the effect of heat and are dissociated to the decolored state by visible light. The compd. of formula is usable as the component A. In the formula, R1 denotes lower alkoxyl, lower alkyl, etc.; R2 denotes alkyl or benzyl; R3 denotes lower alkoxyl, hydroxyl group, etc. The complex ion compds. of Ni (II), Cu (II), etc., are usable as the component B.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystal material which is homogeneously oriented in a prescribed direction by laminating a chemical material layer having the property to orient to the angle intrinsic to an oscillation direction of light and a liquid crystal layer on a substrate and irradiating the layers with linearly polarized light for a specified period of time. CONSTITUTION:The liquid crystal material formed by laminating the chemical material layer 2 having the property to orient to the angle intrinsic to the oscillation direction of light and the liquid crystal layer 3 on the substrate 1 is irradiated with the linearly polarized light for the specified period of time. At least either of two sheets of the substrates 1, 4 of the sandwich type liquid crystal cell which can be homogeneously oriented may be a transparent substrate and the other may be formed of a sheet consisting of metals, such as copper, iron, aluminum, and platinum or the sheet coated with these metals. A photochromic compd. is most ordinarily used as the compd. having the property to be oriented by the linearly polarized light on at least one substrate. The liquid crystal material homogeneously oriented to the prescribed angle is obtd. in this way.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title material improved both in durability in the repeated developing and extinguishing of a color and in the persistence of the stability in both bleached and colored states by dispersing a specified spirooxazine and a donor of divalent metallic ions in a medium. CONSTITUTION:The title material is obtained by dispersing a donor (A) of divalent metallic ions, preferably comprising a metal (II) complex ion compound prepared by chelating at least one kind of ligand with a metal (II) ion compound [e.g. a complex ion compound comprising a mixture of Ni(ClO4)2 acetylacetonate and N,N'-tetramethylenediamine], and a spirooxazine (B) of the formula (wherein R is a substituent capable of coordinating with metal, such as OH, lower alkoxyl, alkyl ketone or aryl ketone; the C at the 5-position may have a substituent, such as lower alkoxy, lower alkyl, halogen or amino; the N at the 1-position may have a substituent, such as long-chain alkyl, aryl or benzyl; and the naphthalene ring may be a quinoline ring) which reversibly forms a chelate with component A by the action of light in a medium (C) preferably comprising a thermoplastic resin.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To readily obtain the title thin film useful for separating membrane, having small thickness of membrane, large permeation performance and diffusion performance by forming a soap foamlike membrane, subjecting a water-soluble polymer in the membrane to a crosslinking condition and insolubilizing the polymer. CONSTITUTION:A raw material solution consisting of 100 pts.wt. of water, especially 1-5wt.% ionic surfactant or nonionic surfactant such as polyoxyethylene phenyl ether, especially 1-5wt.% water-soluble polymer such as polyvinyl alcohol and glutaraldehyde having compatibility with the water-soluble polymer and the surfactant and preferably 2-10 pts.wt. crosslinking agent is used and a soap foam-like membrane is made by ordinary formation of soap bubble. The membrane is allowed to stand in a constant temperature bath, crosslinking of the polymer is promoted and the film is insolubilized to form a thin film having 5,000-7,000Angstrom thickness.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent intraocular lens by crosslinking a specific high-molecular compound by irradiating the same with light. CONSTITUTION:A polyvinyl alcohol derivative being a specific high-molecular compound is constituted by introducing a constitutional unit represented by formula I into the main chain of polyvinyl alcohol and obtained, for example, by the reaction of polyvinyl alcohol with a styrylpyridinium salt or styrylquinolium salt having an acetal or formyl group. The content of the constitutional unit represented by the formula I is pref. 0.3-20mol.% of polyvinyl alcohol. As a pref. method for forming an intraocular lens using this material, there is a method wherein said material is injected in a crystal capsule as an aqueous solution to be crosslinked.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable rapid recording, reading out and erasing by light and to enable the long-period preservation of recording by using a film having a composite laminar structure of the clay and bilayer obtd. by the ion complex of a surfactant and clay compd. which are respectively specific. CONSTITUTION:The film having the composite laminar structure of the bilayer- clay film obtd. from the ion complex of the cationic surfactant having 2 straight chain higher alkyl groups and the anionic laminar clay compd. is used. Spirobenzopyranes are dispersed as a photochromic compd. into this film. A change is generated in the physical state of a film-like binder by a stimulus except light, for example, heat or the like so as to arbitrarily control the state in which the photochromic reaction progresses and the state reverse therefrom. The recording, reading out and erasing by the light are thereby rapidly enabled and the long-period preservation of the recording is enabled.

CONSTITUTION:A film having a bimolecular film structure obtnd. from an ion complex of an ionic surface active agent having two linear higher alkyl groups with a high molecular electrolyte having counter electric charge, is used as the high molecular material film of this invention. Suitable high molecular electrolyte is, for example, polystyrenic electrolyte, polyvinyl sulfate, polyglutamic acid, heparin, polylysine, polyallylamine, etc. By this constitution, optical storage, reading, erasing are executed quickly, and long time preservation of optical storage is also possible.
