    Abstract: Road marking pains contg. 10-50 pref. 20-40 wt. % organic binder (I) with a softening temp. >70 degrees C, which opt. contains the usual solvents, plasticisers and stabilisers, 5-20% inorganic pigment and 40-85, pref 50-80% inorganic filler. (I) pref. is a copolymer of 30-99% (meth)acrylic ester of a 1-8C mono-alcohol, 1-15% olefinically unsatd. cpd. with OH or COOH gp(s). and 0-55% other olefinically unsatd. cpd. The paint can be applied easily at high speed without the use of a large amt. of solvent or hot paint. Marking can be carried out in moving traffic without the need for barriers. The thickness of the paint film can be varied widely by adjusting th speed of application and the viscosity. With solvent-free compsns., thin (0.5-1.5 mm) markings can be obtd., which prevent a build up of water and hence aquaplaning. These compsns. also give high grip, eliminating the need to scatter powder on the fresh markings.

    Abstract: Impregnating-, or laminating and adhesive agent based on polyesterimide precondensates, and opt. contg. polar organic solvents, comprises the reaction prod. of (A) melamine, (B) >=1 di or polybasic acid and/or its anhydride, acid chloride or ester of a lower mono-alkanol, (C) >=1 polyvalent alcohol and, opt. (D) >=1 aromatic dicarboxylic acids or their esters with lower alkanols, the molar relationship of (A):(B)being from 1:1.1 to 1:3. Pref. the precondensate contains (condensed) 5-15 wt.% (A), 15-70 wt.% (B), 10-25 wt.% (C) and 5-55 wt.% (D). The precondensates show esp. advantageous processing props. and impregnates, laminates and adhesive bonds made with the agent show excellent flexural strength and good temp. stability.
