Abstract: Un proceso para preparar óxido de propileno, que comprende (i) proporcionar una corriente que comprende propeno, propano, peróxido de hidrógeno o una fuente de peróxido de hidrógeno, agua y un disolvente orgánico; (ii) pasar la corriente de alimentación líquida proporcionada en (i) a una zona de epoxidación que comprende un catalizador de epoxidación que comprende una zeolita de titanio y someter la corriente de alimentación líquida a las condiciones de reacción de epoxidación en la zona de epoxidación, obteniendo una mezcla de reacción que comprende propeno, propano, óxido de propileno, agua y disolvente orgánico; (iii) eliminar una corriente efluente de la zona de epoxidación, la corriente efluente comprende propeno, propano, óxido de propileno, agua y el disolvente orgánico; (iv) separar propeno y propano de la corriente efluente por destilación, que comprende someter la corriente efluente a condiciones de destilación en una unidad de destilación, obtener una corriente gaseosa S1 que está enriquecida en propeno y propano en comparación con la corriente efluente sometida a condiciones de destilación, y una corriente de fondo líquida S2 que está enriquecida en óxido de propileno, agua y disolvente orgánico en comparación con la corriente efluente sometida a condiciones de destilación; (v) separar el propano de la corriente S1 en una zona de separación, que comprende someter la corriente S1 a condiciones de lavado en un depurador, donde se añade una mezcla de disolventes que comprende disolvente orgánico y agua como agente de arrastre, obteniendo una corriente de fondo S3, que comprende disolvente orgánico, agua y al menos 70% en peso del propeno comprendido en S1; y una corriente superior gaseosa S4, que comprende al menos 5% en peso del propano comprendido en la corriente S1.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a process for preparing propylene oxide, comprising (i) providing a stream comprising propene, hydrogen peroxide or a source of hydrogen peroxide, water, and an organic solvent; (ii) passing the liquid feed stream provided in (i) into an epoxidation zone comprising an epoxidation catalyst comprising a titanium zeolite, and subjecting the liquid feed stream to epoxidation reaction conditions in the epoxidation zone, obtaining a reaction mixture comprising propene, propylene oxide, water, and the organic solvent; (iii) removing an effluent stream from the epoxidation zone, the effluent stream comprising propylene oxide, water, organic solvent, and propene; (iv) separating propene from the effluent stream by distillation, comprising (iv.1) subjecting the effluent stream to distillation conditions in a distillation unit, obtaining a gaseous top stream S0 enriched in propene compared to the effluent stream subjected to distillation conditions, and a liquid bottoms stream S01 enriched in propylene oxide, water and organic solvent compared to the effluent stream subjected to distillation conditions; (iv.2) returning a condensed portion of the stream S0 to an upper part of the distillation unit.

The additive component comprises an amine compound and water. The amine compound can be imidazole. The additive component is useful for reducing the amount of press time required during manufacture of the composite article.
