    Abstract: Se proporciona un método para medir una concentración de especies electrolíticamente activas en una solución acuosa o no acuosa para el uso en la provisión de control de la concentración de la especie en una solución de origen de la misma basada en las mediciones. En el método, una muestra que contiene una especie electrolíticamente activa se adiciona en una celda de medición que tiene un electrodo de trabajo y un electrodo auxiliar, y una corriente constante se aplica a la celda de medición mientras que los electrodos de trabajo y auxiliares están en contacto con la muestra con el monitoreo de la diferencia de voltaje a través de los electrodos hasta que se detecta un cambio en la diferencia de voltaje. Una señal de retroalimentación se genera en base a un parámetro del cambio en la diferencia de voltaje que es directamente proporcional a la cantidad de la especie electrolíticamente activa en la muestra, que se puede utilizar para el control del proceso.     Abstract: The invention provides a solid TCMTB formulation for controlling the growth of at least one microorganism. The use of a solid TCMTB formulation, as compared to a liquid, minimizes user contact and is mo re readily packaged. A solid TCMTB formulation of the invention contains TCMTB adsorbed onto a water-soluble, salt carrier matrix, with the TCMTB present in an amount effective to control the growth of at least one microorganism, preferably in an aqueous system. Other microbicides and additives may also be incorporated into a solid TCMTB formulation of the invention. In a preferred embodiment, the formulation contains both TCMTB and one or more other microbicides (e.g., methylene bisthiocyanate (MTC)) and a water-solubl e, salt carrier matrix. The TCMTB is adsorbed onto the water-soluble salt carrier matrix. The TCMTB and other microbicide are prese nt in a combined antimicrobial amount effective for the control of at least one microorganism. A solid TCMTB formulation may be used in a wide variety of biocide applications. Accordingly, the invention also relates to a method for controlling the growth of at leas t one microorganism in a liquid, preferably aqueous, system. In particular, the method controls the growth of at least one microorganism in an aqueous system by contacting an aqueous system with a solid TCMTB formulation comprising TCMTB adsorbed onto a water-soluble sal t carrier matrix in an amount effective to control the growth of at least one microorganism in the aqueous system.
