Abstract:
Disclosed is an ostomy device with an adhesive wafer for attachment to a skin surface (S) of a user and a collecting bag (8) or collecting output from a stoma. The collecting bag is connected to the adhesive wafer, and the adhesive wafer has a through-going hole (6) for accommodating the stoma (7) of the user. The adhesive wafer includes a backing layer (3), a first switchable adhesive composition (2), a second absorbent adhesive composition (1), and a release liner, and the second adhesive layer has a central portion with a first thickness and an edge portion with a second thickness, the first thickness being larger than the second thickness.
Abstract:
An ostomy appliance having a base plate with an adhesive wafer and a convex supporting device. The convex supporting device is a shell (500) having an annular ring defined by an inner and an outer edge and having folding restriction means (507) for altering the flexibility of the convex shell when it folds or bends in use.
Abstract:
An ostomy device that comprises an adhesive wafer (1) for attaching to the skin around the stoma. The wafer comprises an adhesive layer (3) having a proximal adhesive surface and a distal surface. The distal surface is covered with a backing layer (2). The wafer comprises a central portion (6) and a peripheral portion (7), and it comprises at least a first and a detection zone (4), wherein the detection zone is configured to provide a tactile sensation on the distal surface of the wafer when exposed to moisture.
Abstract:
An anal patch comprising an absorbent pad (3) in a shape with two substantially parallel flat surfaces and a contact surface perpendicular to the flat surfaces, the area of the contact surface being smaller than each of the two parallel flat surfaces, an adhesive part, comprising an adhesive coated backing layer (4), having a central aperture (8) wherein at least a part of the contact surface of the absorbent pad is aligned with the aperture of the adhesive part.
Abstract:
An ostomy appliance comprising a base plate, said base plate having a first hole for receiving a stoma, ureter, or catheter and an adhesive wafer having a first surface to be attached to the wearer's abdomen back, or chest; a receiving member or bag releasably attached to the base plate, said bag having a second hole for receiving wastes exiting the stoma, ureter or catheter; and a disposable inner bag liner forming a second bag inside the receiving member and being releasably attachable to the base plate in a first coupling area by first coupling means, said disposable inner bag liner having a third hole for receiving wastes exiting the stoma, ureter or catheter and the receiving wastes exiting the stoma, ureter or catheter and the receiving member being releasably attachable to the base plate by second coupling means wherein the first coupling means is in the form of an adhesive flange projecting from the rim of the third hole and having a surface for releasable sealing against a second surface of the base plate facing away from the user provides an ostomy appliance combining the advantages of using a separate, flushable inner bags with an easy, safe, hygienic and discreet management of the collected waste with maximum safety against soiling parts of the appliance not to be substituted when substituting the inner bag, which inner bag may be used directly together with existing ostomy devices.
Abstract:
The application relates to an appliance for irrigation and/or drainage, which appliance comprising a body side member comprising an adhesive wafer (1) for securing the appliance to the patient's skin, said wafer can be provided with an aperture (5) for receiving a stoma, surrounding a wound, a fistula or a drainage site (6) , a wall (3) of flexible material, the wall comprising a rear wall (7) and a front wall (8) , the rear wall being attached to the wafer and having an opening suitable for surrounding the surface area of the skin to be cleansed, and the front wall comprising a coupling flange (2) adapted for removable coupling and sealing to matching coupling means (10) , an sealed chamber (11) which, when inflated, provides a distance between the adhesive wafer and the coupling flange.
Abstract:
An ostomy appliance comprising a body side member comprising an adhesive wafer for securing the appliance to the user's skin, said wafer having a hole for receiving a stoma, wherein the body side member comprises first substantially annular coupling means for releasable attachment of a separately exchangeable receiving bag to the body side ostomy member for receiving secretions from the stoma, said receiving bag comprising matching substantially annular coupling means, wherein the body side member comprises a separate sealing member for sealing against the stoma, wherein the separate sealing member is in the form of a disc having a centre hole for accommodating the stoma and wherein at least the skin-contacting surface of the disc comprises a mass of a adhesive, wherein the disc facing the skin of the user has a maximum outer diameter corresponding to the inner diameter of the first annular coupling means and wherein the centre hole of the disc has a diameter smaller than the diameter of the stoma-receiving hole of the body side member ensuring that the disc covers all of the surface of the adhesive wafer facing away from the user located between the first annular coupling means and the stoma, said disc being made from a material that may be detached, rinsed and reapplied offers a body side member comprising a sealing member which may be removed. washed and reused, which has a service time at least as long as the body side member, and which reduces the frequency of stressing the skin around the stoma due to exchange of the body side member by protecting the surface of the adhesive wafer from soiling by and attack from the aggressive visceral contents and facilitates the cleaning of the body side member.
