Abstract:
An ostomy device (1) comprising a collecting bag (2) and a base plate (3) with an adhesive plate (4) for being fastened on the user, said base plate having an opening (5) for receiving an ostomy, said base plate (3) further comprising a first flange (7) for repeated and removable adhesive connection to a coupling element (8) on the collecting bag, said first flange (7) being manufactured from a material with a first tensile strength, said coupling element comprising a second flange (9) manufactured from a material with a second tensile strength, said adhesive connection being provided by at least one layer of an adhesive (13). Furthermore, the device comprises a further flexible layer (10) placed between the adhesive and the flange with the tensile strength being the lowest, and said flexible layer having a yield strength exceeding the adhesive strength of the adhesive (13). Hereby an adhesive coupling connection is obtained between bag part and body portion is such a manner that deformations and tearing out of the flange material are prevented and whereby good coupling connection is obtained without a risk of residue of adhesive agent and foam being left behind on the surface the was supposed to be clean and ready to receive an fresh, unused bag flange.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an ostomy carrier device (38) comprising, a base plate (39) for securing the carrier device to a user's skin around a stoma, the base plate having an opening (40) for receiving the stoma; a circumferential flange (44) adapted for connection with and removal of an ostomy collecting bag, the circumferential flange having an opening (46) for receiving a stoma; at least one connecting ring (41, 42, 43) arranged between the circumferential flange and the base plate, - and at least one point on said connecting ring being radially displaceable from a neutral position, where no force is applied to the connecting ring, to a displaced position when force is applied to said at least one point, and that when said at least one point is in the displaced position said at least one point will move towards the neutral position when no force is applied to said connecting ring. This reduces the risk of unwanted leakage and/or inconvenience to the user.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a carrier device comprising a flexible adhesive base plate with an opening for securing the carrier device to a user's skin around a stoma, and a substantially circumferential flange made of a flexible material and being adapted for removable and adhesive connection with a coupling element of an ostomy collecting bag, and wherein the outer portion of the flange is free to move relative to the base plate. According to the invention, the outer portion of the flange is more flexible than the inner portion of the flange. This feature ensures that the outer peripheral portion of the flange can absorb movements between the carrier device and the collecting bag thus protecting against peeling of the bond between the flange members as well as providing a cushioning effect against forces acting on the periphery of the flanges, whereas the inner less flexible portion is adapted to withstand deformations originating from the adhesive pad.
Abstract:
An ostomy appliance comprising a body side member comprising an adhesive wafer or pad for securing the appliance to the user's skin, said wafer or pad having a hole for receiving a stoma, and a separately exchangeable receiving bag secured to the body side ostomy member for receiving secretions from the ostomy, wherein the body side member comprises a first substantially annular first flange connected to the base plate via a first connecting section and the receiving bag comprises a second substantially annular second flange which is connected to the collecting bag via a substantially annular second connecting section and is designed for removable and adhesive connection with said first flange wherein the first and the second flanges are connected with the base plate and the collecting bag, respectively, in such a manner that the outer radius of said second connecting section exceeds the outer radius of said first connecting section by a value which at least equals the total thickness of the first and the second flanges and the adhesive connection between the collecting bag and the carrier device is provided by a layer of adhesive applied on said second flange and capable of repeated adhesion with the first flange, and the first and the second flanges are made from a flexible and resilient material, and wherein the second flange has perforations in an essentially circular zone corresponding to or larger than the outer radius of said first connecting section reduces the risk of leakage and also reduces the necessary cleaning when substituting the receiving bag.
Abstract:
A flange for a medical collecting bag having an aperture allowing bodily fluids or exudates to enter the bag, wherein the flange has an inner rim delimiting the aperture therein, and wherein the flange has a central area encircling the aperture which area has a predetermined weakening line pattern wherein the force needed for removing the bag flange from the skin or a body side member is smaller than the force needed for breaking the weakening lines enables a simple gradual enlargement of the aperture of an ostomy device for adaptation of the aperture to the size of the stoma or for adaptation of the aperture to the size of a wound and a complete removal of the bag flange when substituting the bag.
