Abstract: The invention relates to the determination of a pair of ophthalmic lenses, by measurement of the sagittal plane shift of the wearer for close vision with relation to the standard sagittal plane. Optimisation targets are then chosen as a function of the measured shift. The lenses are determined by optimisation with the chosen targets. Lenses are thus obtained with which the field of close vision is symmetrical with relation to the medial line as perceived by the wearer. A wearer with a displaced sagittal plane thus has a greater close vision field which facilitates binocular vision and increases acuity.

Abstract: The invention concerns a set of progressive multifocal opthalmic lenses, each having a first progressive multifocal surface and a second surface preferably spherical. It proposes to define the set of lenses with regard to the optical characteristics of the lenses, and particularly wearer power and oblique astigmatism, in worn conditions. For this purpose, the invention defines an ergorama associating with each sight direction in worn conditions a target object point, and a given power. This ergorama supplies a power target for a definition by optimisation of the lenses, and is used in a radii plotting programme for calculating the optical characteristics during optimisation. The set of lenses has substantially identical optical performances for a given addition, whatever the power of the far vision reference point.

A power addition value A is defined as a variation in mean sphere between the control point for distance vision and the control point for near vision portion. A base B is defined as a value of mean sphere at the control point for distance vision. A width of the near vision portion varies not only as a function of the power addition value A, but also as a function of the value B of the base. The invention thereby ensures the presence of a substantially constant object field for all values of the power addition and of the base.

Le jeu de lentilles selon l'invention présente des performances optiques sensiblement identiques pour une addition donnée, quelle que soit la puissance au point de référence de la vision de loin.
