    Abstract: In a deflection apparatus which corrects for inside pincushion distortion, a deflection winding (LH) and a retrace capacitance (CRD) form a retrace resonance circuit (27) during a retrace interval. A trace capacitance (Cs) forms a trace resonant circuit with the deflection winding (LH) during the trace interval. A circuit branch that includes a second capacitance (C6) and a modulation inductance (L1) is coupled to the trace capacitance (Cs) during the trace interval to form with the trace capacitance (Cs) a second resonant circuit (60) having a resonance frequency that is substantially higher during the trace interval than that of the trace resonant circuit. A current in the circuit branch modulates the trace parabolic voltage across the trace capacitance (Cs) in a manner to reduce inside pincushion distortion. A supply current (i4) is coupled to an intermediate terminal (112) of the modulation inductance (L1) for reducing "mouseteeth" raster distortion.

    Abstract: A linearity correction circuit for correcting asymmetrical linearity errors of the line deflection current includes a resonant capacitor coupled to a first inductor for forming a resonant circuit having a resonant frequency greater than or equal to the deflection retrace frequency. A controllable switch coupled to the resonant circuit and to the deflection trace capacitor becomes conductive at the beginning of retrace to generate an oscillatory current pulse in the resonant circuit that removes a predetermined amount of charge from the trace capacitor during retrace. A second, relatively large valued inductor is coupled to the line deflection winding and is responsive to the deflection retrace pulse voltage for supplying during the trace interval a linearity correction current to the trace capacitor via the resonant capacitor.

    Abstract: A switched vertical deflection circuit derives vertical deflection current from horizontal deflection energy. A single switching element operates during both horizontal trace and retrace intervals. Conduction of the switching element is controlled by a vertical control circuit to provide the desired vertical deflection current. Feedback to the control circuit is referenced to ground potential to eliminate nonlinearity caused by voltage supply variations. The vertical circuit voltage supply is adapted to sink as well as supply current, thereby stabilizing the supply.

    Abstract: In a deflection circuit such as for a CRT display device, modulated current that is generated in a raster control circuit especially for East-West pincushion distortion correction, is coupled to a deflection circuit output stage (100) via a Class A operated amplifier (Q2) serving as a current source having a high output impedance during retrace. The current source prevents coupling of a signal at a retrace frequency during retrace between a high voltage winding (W1) of the flyback transformer (T1) and a retrace resonant circuit (27) that includes the deflection winding (LH). The high output impedance of the amplifier current source during retrace maintains the average value of the modulated current during retrace unaffected by an amplitude of a retrace voltage that is developed in the retrace resonant circuit (27). In this way, ultor voltage loading variation is prevented from causing "mouseteeth" distortions.
