    Abstract: PURPOSE:To extend the usable wavelength region and to improve the resistance to laser light by using an org. compound contg. elements selected from two groups of elements, respectively after deuterium is substituted for hydrogen in the selected elements. CONSTITUTION:The titled optical compound is an org. compound contg. one or more elements selected from a first group consisting of -NH2, -NH-, -N H3, -N H2- and -N H= and one or more elements selected from a second group consisting of C-C, C-hetero atom and hetero atom-hetero atom multiple bond after D is substituted for one or more H atoms in the selected elements. It is preferable that D is substituted for one or more H atoms in each of the selected elements. The compound contg. the selected elements is preferably a deriv. of aromatic amine, aromatic heterocyclic amine, urea, amino acid acid amide, aniline or nitroaniline or a salt of the deriv.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a thin film org. nonlinear optical material by using uniaxially oriented polymer film as a substrate, and a molecule having an electron donating group and an electron accepting group respectively at both ends of a pi-electron conjugated system. CONSTITUTION:Molecules having an electron donating group and an electron accepting group respectively at both ends of a pi-electron conjugated system selected from benzene, 1,2-diphenyl ethylene, 1,2-diphenyl acetylene, 1,4-diphenyl acetylene, and N-benzylidene aniline oriented in a fixed direction along the orientation direction of uniaxially oriented polymer film, are laminated on the film by vacuum vapor deposition. By this method, molecules are oriented in a fixed direction and laminated and a thin film org. nonlinear optical material is obtd.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a photosensitive composition giving a soluble flexible printing plate with superior endurance and consisting of polyamide having alpha-(N,N-dialkylamino)-epsilon-caprolactam and cyclic amide as structural units and a photopolymerizing unsatd. compound. CONSTITUTION:This composition consists of copolyamide contg. 10-90mol% structural units represented by formula I (where R is lower alkyl and n is 5-11) and 90-10mol% structural units represented by formula II and of a photopolymerizing unsatd. compound. alpha-(N,N-dialkylamino)-epsilon-caprolactam (the structural unit of formula I) used includes alpha-(N,N-dimethylamino)-epsilon-caprolactam, and epsilon-caprolactam may be used as 6-12C cyclic amide having no substituent (the structural unit of formula II). The above-mentioned copolyamide is obtd. by polymerizing monomers forming structural units I, II in the presence of basic catalyst.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the electrophotographic sensitive body having excellent electrophotographic characteristics and mechanical peeling strength is suitable for the process to execute exposing from the rear surface by respectively specifying the grain size of a conductive metal oxide constituting the conductive power of a transparent conductive layer and the volumetric ratios of the conductive powder/binder resin, respectively. CONSTITUTION:The transparent conductive layer consisting of the conductive powder and binder resin, an intermediate layer and a photosensitive layer are laminated on a transparent base. The transparent conductive layer is so formed that the conductive powder thereof consists of the conductive metal oxide having 0.6 to 1.0mum average grain size and the ratio of the conductive powder/the binder resin attains 20/80 to 40/60. Sea-and-island-shaped ruggedness consisting of the conductive powder and the binder resin is formed on the surface of the conductive layer in this range. The sufficient adhesiveness to the intermediate layer or the photosensitive layer is thus obtd. and the contact area of the conductive powder and the intermediate layer or the photosensitive layer is wide. The transfer of charges between the photosensitive layer and the conductive layer is well executed. The electrophotographic sensitive body which is suitable for the exposing from the rear surface and has the high mechanical strength and stable characteristics is obtd. in this way.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To lessen the dependency of potential attenuation on exposing intensity and to lower the surface potential in the exposed part in light intensity and short-time exposure by using the photosensitive body which specifies the X-ray diffraction spectra of a layer contg. titanyl phthalocyanine. CONSTITUTION:This photosensitive body is provided with the photosensitive layer (e.g. the photosensitive layer of lamination constitution formed by a coating method) contg. a charge generating material consisting of the titanyl phthalocyanine expressed by formula I and a charge transfer material (e.g. the compd. expressed by formula II). The X-ray diffraction spectra of the layer contg. the above-mentioned charge generating material exhibit strong diffraction peaks at least at 7.5 deg. and 27.3 deg. Bragg angle 2theta (+ or -0.2 deg.) with the characteristic X-ray of CuKalpha. In addition, the intensity ratio R (R=(intensity of 27.3 deg.)/(intensity of 7.5 deg.)) of the peaks is so determined as to exhibit 0.3 to 10. In the formula, X denotes Cl or Br; k to n denote 0 to 4.

CONSTITUTION:The mixed crystals for which >=2 kinds of the different benzylidene aniline derivs. are used as referred to for this material are not the mixed crystals obtd. by mixing >=2 kinds of the crystals consisting of one kind of the benzylidene aniline deriv. but the mixed crystals formed by mixing >=2 kinds of the derivs. among the benzyldene aniline derivs. and crystallizing both the derivs. to form the single crystal. While this org. quadratic nonlinear optical material can develop the optical nonlinearity over a wide range, the most useful range above all is the range of about the nitroaniline deriv. studied heretofore or above. The nonlinearity of the molecule level of at least one kind of the benzylidene aniline deriv., i.e., the quadratic super polarizability betais required to be the nitroaniline deriv. or above in this case.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a practically useful nonlinear optical material having great nonlinearity and high threshold value for breakage due to laser by using a compd. expressed by the formula: O2N-phi-NR1-N=CHR2. CONSTITUTION:The compd. has a structure expressed by formula I, wherein phiis an aromatic or heteroaromatic ring; R1 is H or an aliphatic substituent; R2 is an optically active group. The nonlinearity of the compd. increases in accompany with the length of pi electron conjugated system and the intensity of interaction between the base state and excited state. Therefore, the superpolarizability of the molecule is enhanced by introducing a nitro group having strong acceptive characteristic and a linkage (-NR1-N=CR2-) having donative characteristic into a pi electron conjugated system of an aliphatic or heteroaromatic ring. The imine linkage (-N=CHR2) is effective for increasing charge transfer and for increasing optical nonlinearity. By this constitution, a practically useful org. nonlinear optical material having great optical nonlinearity and high threshold value for breakage against laser, and having moreover suitability for crystallization and for forming thin film is provided.
