    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance durability and cleanability, to improve potential acceptance and potential stability in the dark, to elevate sensitivity, to reduce residual potential, and to ameliorate repetition stability and environment stability by forming a protective layer made of a water-soluble or water-dispersible graft polymer composed of the trunk polymer of a polyester having hydrophilic groups and the branched polymers of acrylic polymers. CONSTITUTION:The protective layer is made of the water-soluble or water- dispersible graft polymer composed of the trunk polymer of a polyester having the hydrophilic groups, and the branched polymers of acrylic polymers, and it is formed by coating the surface of the photosensitive body with this graft copolymer, drying, and heat hardening the coating film, thus permitting the obtained photosensitive body to be superior in durability and cleanability, good in potential acceptance and stability in the dark, high in sensitivity, low in residual potential, and good in reception stability and environment stability.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid crystal display device hardly causing short-circuit defects by conducting laser beam repair, applying the laser bean repair at the specified position of a black matrix. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device is provided with a color filter, having a colored layer consisting of the three primary colors and a resin black matrix. At this time, laser beam repair is applied at the position of a black matrix whose main light shielding material has a specific gravity of 2.5 or higher. As the black matrix, the resin black matrix made of resin and the light shielding material is preferable in terms of benefit, and as the resin, epoxy resin, acrylic resin and the like may be exemplified. As the light shielding material for the black matrix, carbon black, titanium oxide nitride and the like are exemplified. Thermal deformation of the black matrix due to irradiation with the laser beam can be suppressed due to the high specific gravity of the main light shielding material. SOLUTION: In this color filter equipped with a shielding layer, a coloring layer and a transparent protective layer on a transparent substrate, the film thickness of the transparent protective layer is 0.2 μm or less, and the surface roughness Ra of the transparent protective layer is 8 nm or less. Any method can be used as a method for making the film thickness of the transparent protective layer 0.2 μm or less and the surface roughness Ra of the transparent protective layer 8 nm or less, but preferably, a removal treatment of an organic matter residue is executed relative to the substrate on which the coloring layer is formed, and thereafter the transparent protective layer is formed.
