    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject resin excellent in a refractive index, toughness, Abbe's number, hardness and light resistance and desirable for particularly spectacle lenses by polymerizing a specified polymerizable monomer. CONSTITUTION:A high-refractive index resin is produced by using a compound of formula I (wherein R2 is a group of formula II or III; X is H or CH3; and R2 and R3 are each an aliphatic hydrocarbon residue or an aromatic hydrocarbon residue, provided that when they are aliphatic hydrocarbon residues, the sum of the numbers of their carbon atoms is 1 to 6) as a polymerizable monomer. The obtained resin is excellent in a refractive index, Abbe's number, hardness, transparency and light resistance, and is desirable for use in optical lenses, especially spectacle lenses. The polymerizable monomer of formula I can be obtained by thioesterifying the terminals of a dithiol compound of formula IV by reaction with (meth)acrylolyl chloride or by the addition reaction of the terminals of a dithiol compound with a divinylbenzene.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a desired amount of end groups by adding a regulator to regulate the amount of end groups to a polyamide resin after polymerization and to provide a means for obtaining a polyamide resin which has good workability during melt processing and good quality. SOLUTION: This preparation method of a polyamide resin comprises a polymerization step in which a raw material for polymerization is polymerized to obtain a polyamide resin; a step of adding a regulator to regulate the amount of end groups to the polyamide resin obtained in the polymerization step and melt blending the same; and a step of removing unreacted regulator to regulate the amount of end groups and its derivative in the polyamide resin obtained in the step of melt blending such that the amount of the unreacted regulator to regulate the amount of end groups and its derivative is 10 ppm or lower based on the polyamide resin.

SOLUTION: In a method for producing thermoplastic resin pellets while adding two or more kinds of powdery additives thereto, when the degree of compaction of at least one powdery additive A is 57-81% and the degree of compaction of the other powdery additive B is lower than 57%, the addition amt. of the powdery additive A is twice or more that of the powdery additive B in a weight ratio.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To separate especially 3,5-isomor from a mixture of dichlorocumene isomers by using a zeolite having specific silica/alumina molar ratio and pore diameter as an adsorbent and xylene as a desorbent. CONSTITUTION:Especially 3,5-isomer is separated and recovered from a mixture of dichlorocumene isomers by using a zeolite having a silica/alumina molar ratio of >=2 (preferably 2-30) and a pore diameter of 0.6-1.0nm as an adsorbent and xylene as a desorbent. The separation operation is carried out preferably at 50-250 deg.C under atmospheric pressure - 40kg/cm G in liquid phase. The zeolite is preferably selected from faujasite-type zeolite. L-type zeolite and beta-type zeolite. The 3,5-isomer useful as an intermediate for pharmaceuticals, agricultural chemicals, dyes, etc., can be separated and recovered in high purity and efficiency by the present process.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To efficiently absorb and separate a desired dichlorocumene isomer from a dichlorocumene isomer mixture using a specific zeolite as a absorbing agent and simultaneously using a halogenated alkylbenzene, etc., as a desorbing agent. CONSTITUTION:When a desired dichlorocumene isomer, especially 3,5- dichlorocumene useful as an intermediate for agricultural chemical, medicine, dye, etc., is absorbed and separated, a zeolite having >=2, preferably 2-30 silica/ alumina ratio and 0.6-1.0nm pore size, especially one or more kinds of compounds selected from faujasite type zeolite, L type zeolite and beta type zeolite are used as absorbing agent and simultaneously one or more kinds of compounds are used as desorbing agents to industrially and advantageously separate the aimed isomer.
