    Abstract: PURPOSE:The titled fibers, capable of giving yarns having a specific cross- sectional shape advantageously, and usable for obtaining yarns for high-class synthetic fibrous woven and knitted fabrics having a crispy feeling and elegant gloss. CONSTITUTION:Two-component composite fibers having a component (B) arranged in the direction of the fibrous surface to the inner part thereof in which any segments of lines perpendicular to a segment (MG) connecting the center (M) of the fibrous surface in the cross section of the component (B) with the center of gravity (G) of the composite fibers may be longer than the length of a segment (PQ) connecting the boundary points (P) and (Q) of the components (A) and (B). The ratio between the maximal length of a segment (XY) and the segment (PQ) is 1.1-4, preferably 1.2-3.5.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:The titled conjugated filament easily providing modified cross-section filament useful for woven or knitted goods having crispy feeling free from garish gloss, containing plural components having several wedge-shaped tapering in the central direction, consisting of a specific polyester. CONSTITUTION:The titled conjugated filament of two components having several cross-sectional shapes obtained by separating the component B having wedge shaped tapering in the central direction and consisting of a polyester obtained by copolymerizing an ester containing >=2.4mol metal sulfonate by the other component A comprising a polyester or polyamide. Ethylene-5-sodium sulfoisophthalate unit is preferable as the ester containing metal sulfonate. By removing the component B through dissolution from the conjugated filament having the above-mentioned shapes, a two-leaves cross-sectional filament having high deformation degree is obtained without changing the shapes of the component A.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:A specifically composed polyester of polyethylene terephthalate is used as the yarn-splitting component and it is combined with a polyamide to produce conjugate fibers, thus improving the release resistance before split and facilitating the splitting with an aqueous alkali. CONSTITUTION:As the splitting component, is used polyester A containing 2.4 mol% or more, preferably 3-30mol% of ethylene 5-sodiumsulfoisophthalate and 70mol% of more ethylene terephthalate units. The polyester is conjugated with the polyamide component B to form conjugate fibers in which the polester component A forms the sea continuously and divides the polamide component B into several sections. Then, the conjugate yarns are treated with an aqueous alkali to dissolve the polyester component A, thus giving polyamide split yarns.
