Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled split yarns, having a high strength, improved dyability and light fastness, and dyeable with a basic dye, by subjecting a specific copolymer containing an isophthalic acid component containing metallic sulfonate groups, and a component having the alkali solubility different therefrom to the composite spinning, and treating the resultant yarns with an alkali. CONSTITUTION:(A) A component consisting of a polyester, having a dissolution rate of 4 times or more than of another component (B) in an aqueous solution of an alkali is fed through an opening 3 and an extruding hole 4 of the top plate 1 into an opening 8 of the bottom plate 2, and the component (B) consisting of a copolyester, having 0.7-2.4mol% isophthalic acid component having metallic sulfonate groups and 0.2-10wt% glycol component having 90-6,000 molecular weight and 80-100 polymerization degree is fed from a liquid reservoir 5 between the top and the bottom plates 1 and 2 through a groove 7 provided in a protruding part 6 into the opening 8, divided into plural parts by the component (A) and subjected to the composite spinning. The resultant yarns are then treated with an aqueous solution of an alkali to dissolve the component (A) partially and give the aimed split yarns.

Abstract: PURPOSE:The titled filament in which its cross section is composed of two polymers wherein streams of one polymer are arranged from the outside circumference of a flat-shaped cross section along a major axis thereof tapering toward the inside into the other polymer, thus being suitably used for woven fabrics giving profound colors, crispness, and waxy touch. CONSTITUTION:For example, one polymer component A is passed through the opening 3 in the upper plate 1 and the nozzles 4 into the opening 8 of the lower plate 2. In the meantime, the other component B is passed from the trap 5 between the upper and lower plates 1, 2 through grooves 7 in the projection 6 into the opening 8 of the lower plate 2, whereby the component A is split by the component B into 4 sections to give the objective fiber. The polymer of component B is polyester and the one of component A is preferably more soluble in alkali than component B. The resultant conjugate fiber is woven or knitted after or before it is treated with an alkali, then dyed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title blended yarn suitable for silky wool-like woven and knitted fabric by blending a highly shrinkable yarn with a low shrinkable yarn each being a specific value or above in the difference of boiling water shrinkage factor and/or dry heat shrinkage and constituting the low shrinkable yarn from a polyester and wax. CONSTITUTION:A highly shrinkable yarn and low shrinkable yarn being >=5%, preferably >=7.5% in the difference of boiling water shrinkage factor and/or 200 deg.C dry heat shrinkage factor and blended to provide a good bulky property and drape property to the yarn. The low shrinkable yarn is composed of a modified polyester fiber containing a polyester consisting essentially of ethylene terephthalate recurring units and wax of 1-10wt.% based on 100 pts.wt. of the polyester and the wax contains 50-95wt.% higher aliphatic monocarboxylic acid ester and 5-50wt.% hydrocarbon and has 6-30 acid value, thus provides a flexibility and a slimy feeling.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the subject woolly fiber having a sheath-core structure, containing a specific amount of an aliphatic monocarboxylic acid triglyceride in the sheath, having a cross-sectional ratio of the sheath to the total cross-sec tion falling within a specific range and having good color tone, waxiness, soft ness and frictional property. CONSTITUTION:The objective modified polyester fiber having a cross-sectional ratio of sheath to the total cross-section of the sheath-core conjugate fiber of 4-30% can be produced by using a sheath component composed of 100 pts.wt. of a polyester containing ethylene terephthalate as main recurring unit and P pts.wt. [satisfying the formula II wherein P is pts.wt.; R is cross-sectional ratio (%) of sheath to the total cross-section of the fiber] of an aliphatic monocarboxylic acid triglyceride of formula I (R1 to R3 are >=10C aliphatic monocarboxylic acid residue) (e.g., tristearic acid glyceride), using a conventional polyethylene terephthalate, etc., as a core component, carrying out the composite spinning of the components, winding the spun fiber and drawing the product.
