    Abstract: PURPOSE:Skin-core conjugated yarn useful as undrawn yarn for silk-like woven fabric having improved luster and feeling, obtained by forming a crosssectional shape of core component wherein wedge-shaped forms tapered in the center direaction of filament are made on the surface, comprising the skin and the core components consisting of polymers having different solubility. CONSTITUTION:The desired skin-core conjugated yarn comprising the core component 1 consisting of the polymer B preferably such as polyester, etc., having a crosssectional shape. Wherein wedge-shaped forms tapered in the center direction jof filament are made on the surface, and the skin component 2 covering the core component 1, consisting of the polymer A having higher solubility in a solvent than the polymer B forming the component 1. An alkali aqueous solution is preferable as the solvent, the desired skin-core conjugated yarn has a crosssectional multifoliate shape of outer periphery, and preferably each of an apex part of the multifoliate shape is coincident with each of the wedge-shaped surface of the core component.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:A conjugated yarn composed of 2 kinds of thermoplastic polymers different in solubility is treated with a solvent to remove the soluble component and form grooves with specific width and detph, thus producing the titled fiber giving woven or knitted fabrics with comfortable creaking touch, elegant luster and good color developing properties. CONSTITUTION:A conjugated yarn composed of 2 kinds of thermoplastic polymers different in solubility, preferbly composed of a copolyester from 1-10mol% of 5-sodiosulfoisophtalic acid and 99-90mol% of ethylene terephthalate as the easy soluble component and of polyethylene terephthalate as the hard soluble component, in which the easy soluble polymer occupies at least two places of 0.2-4 micron size on the outer surface in the fiber cross section, is treated with an alkali to remove the easy soluble parts to form grooves of 0.2-4 micron width and 0.1-1.8 micron depth, thus giving the objective fiber.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:Conjugate fibers in which a specific and readily soluble copolyester and a polyamide are combined so that they are hardly releasable but readily splittable by the action of an alkali. CONSTITUTION:Copolyester component A which consists of more than 2.4 mol% of ethylene 5-sodiumsulfoisophthalate and more than 70 mol% of ethylene terephthalate is used as the splitting (readily soluble in a solvent) component and a polyamide as nylon 6 is used as component B which is insoluble in the solvent and split. In the cross section of fibers, the component B is divided into plural sections with the component A. EFFECT:The resulting conjugate fibers are free from fluff and yarn break during processing and fabrication and splitting can be readily effected without failures. After split, resulting fibers consist of extremely fine filaments with modified cross section.
