    Abstract: This invention relates to a method and apparatus for imparting false twists to two yarns simultaneously. The significance of the invention resides in that an industrially utilizable method for false twisting yarns by frictional contact of two yarns with 4 rotating frictional discs has been provided. The apparatus of the present invention for practising the false twisting method is characterized in that the angle of contact of yarns with the frictional discs is maintained within a specific range and the frictional discs are attached to four shafts in specific order at specific heights. Various processes for preparing a variety of false twist yarns by utilizing the false twisting method and apparatus of the present invention have been established.

    Abstract: TEXTURED POLYESTER YARNS AND PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF A textured polyester yarn having improved variation in dyeability along its length is composed of a plurality of individual filaments each having thick and thin sections randomly distributed along the filament axis, said yarn having an Uster evenness value of 1.0 to 10.0%, a T index of 3 to 30 and a variation in reflected light intensity in a continuous dyeing test of +0.15 to +0.80 and said yarn preferably having not-untwisted. portions containing genuine twists of a fixed direction intermittently retained at random along its length. The yarn is produced by false twisting a polyester yarn composed of a plurality-of individual filaments each having variation in cross-sectional area along its length, in which the thick sections have a birefringence of 15 to 80x10-3 and the thin sections have a birefringence of 90 to 200x10-3, at a temperature of not lower than 180.degree.C and under a twisting tension of 0.05 to 0.8 g/d with a variation with respect to the average twisting tension of +5 to +20%.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a bulky yarn made from a thermoplastic multifilament yarn. Each of the individual filaments forming the yarn has a randomly varying thermal shrinkage along its length. The filaments in the cross-section of the yarn also have randomly varying thermal shrinkages. The bulky yarn forms a plurality of loops having a stable and compact configuration, while the number of filament slack portions which project outwardly from the yarn surface is significantly decreased.

    Abstract: Spun yarn-like textured polyester yarns comprised of two types of polyester multifilament component yarns and having broken filaments, in which textured yarns there is a difference in length between the component yarns, whereby high bulkiness is imparted thereto. The individual filaments of one of the component yarns have a fineness less than those of the other component yarn. The spun yarn-like textured yarns have satisfactory pilling resistance and frosting resistance. The spun yarn-like high bulky textured yarns can be produced by a process comprising doubling two types of undrawn polyester multifilament yarns having different properties through an intertwisting regulative device and simultaneously draw-texturing the doubled undrawn yarns.
