Abstract: PURPOSE: To suppress cap stripes while reducing thickness irregularity by dividing the flow of a thermoplastic resin into a plurality of passages and cooling at least one passage to temp. lower than extrusion temp. but equal to or higher than temp. falling crystallization start temp. and laminating the thermoplastic resins from both passages to extrude them from a cap. CONSTITUTION: The flow of the thermoplastic resin melted in an extruder is divided into a plurality of passages and at least one passage is cooled to temp. lower than the extrusion temp. of the thermoplastic resin from the extruder but equal to or higher than the temp. falling crystallization start temp. of the thermoplastic resin. Next, the thermoplastic resins sent from the respective passages are laminated to be extruded from a cap and the extrudate is molded on a cooling roll. As the thermoplastic resin, a polyolefin resin, a polyamide resin or a polyester resin is used. A melt extrusion method is performed using the extruder and the flow of the molten resin is divided into a plurality of passages to increase a cooling specific area and the surface of the thermoplastic resin is held to non-solidifying temp. without extending passage length.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a high performance biaxially oriented polyester film having high strength and low heat shrinkage in good balance. CONSTITUTION: In a polyester film containing polyethylene terephthalate as a main component, the sum (A) of F5 values [kg/mm ] which indicate stresses at 5% elongation in stress-strain curves in the longitudinal and transverse directions is 35 or more, and the ratio between A and the sum (B) of heat shrinkage percentages (%) in the longitudinal and transverse directions (A/B) is 20 or more. In this way, the high strength and low heat shrinkage of a polyester film can be attained at the same time, providing a high performance polyester film desired for a magnetic tape base film and other purposes.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a polyester film reduced in its heat shrinkage factor inexpensively and sufficiently in the machine direction and having good flatness by specifying the shrink quantity differential value and heat shrinkage factor in the differential curve of the real shrink quantity in the machine direction of the film calculated from the extension and retraction quantities at the times of temp. rise and temp. drop due to a thermal and mechanical characteristic tester. CONSTITUTION: In a biaxially oriented film composed of polyester, the shrink quantity differential value dL/dT of the film is always set to 0.01%/ deg.C or less within a range from the glass transition point of polyester to 200 deg.C in the differential curve of the real shrink quantity in the machine direction of the film calculated from the extension and retraction quantities at the times of temp. rise and temp. drop due to a thermal and mechanical characteristic tester. Further, the 20-min heat shrinkage factor in the machine direction of the film at 190 deg.C is set to 1.0% or less. Therefore, heat treatment temp. is set to the range from the start temp. of a melting endothermic peak in DSC to the temp. of the apex of the peak. In order to absorb reversible shrinkage accompanied by cooling from the heat treatment of a tenter, a clip interval is contracted while the film is grasped by the clips of the tenter.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain many films without thickness irregularity by specifying crystallinity of at least one polyester film, superposing two or more polyester films, then longitudinally stretching and/or heat setting it, and then peeling respective films. CONSTITUTION:Two or more polyester films in which crystallinity of at least one polyester film before superposing is 1% or more are superposed, then at least longitudinally stretched and/or heat set, peeled to the respective films, thereby manufacturing two or more polyester films simultaneously. To this end, when polyester is melted and extruded via a T die and cooled to be solidified in a sheet state on a cooling roll, a surface material quality and temperature of the cooling roll are controlled to crystallize it in a cooling step, thereby obtaining an object crystallinity.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a plastic film stretched at least in its lateral direction without generating thickness irregularity or a rupture by making the temp. of the central part of a film higher than that of both end parts thereof up to the period immediately before inserting the film in a tenter. CONSTITUTION:In the production of a plastic film stretched in its lateral direction by a tenter, both end parts 3 of a film 1 are inserted in heaters 4 immediately before the film 1 is inserted in the tenter in the state grasped by tenter clips 2 and the both end parts 3 of the film 2 are heated to temp. higher than that of the central part thereof. That is, the central part of the thin film is immediately heated to predetermined temp. even if the film is guided to the tenter at room temp. but, by preliminarily raising the temp. of both end parts 3 of the film, the temp. difference between the central part and both end parts 3 of the film is reduced during the preheating period of the tenter. By this constitution, in the preheating condition of the tenter, the optimum condition same in the central part and both end parts of the film can be taken.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a laterally stretched plastic film reduced in bowing phenomenon and uniform in physical properties in the lateral direction thereof by cooling a film to a predetermined value or less before the heat treatmet process after lateral stretching and setting the temp. rising speed in the heat treatment process to a predetermined value or more. CONSTITUTION:In the production of a plastic film heat-treated after stretched at least in the lateral direction thereof by a tenter, a cooling process cooling a laterally stretched film to 70 deg.C or lower before a heat treatment process is provided and the temp. rise speed of the film in the heat treatment process is set to 1000 deg.C/sec or more. The longitudinal shrink stress of the film is cut at a time of lateral stretching by providing the cooling process but, since the thermal shrinkage of the film at a time of the application of heat is generated before the heat treatment process, a bowing phenomenon can not be prevented only by providing the cooling process. However, since thermal shrinkage stress becomes low by increasing the temp. rising speed, the thermal shrinkage stress can be prevented by setting the temp. rising speed to 1000 deg.C/sec or more.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the traveling stability of a film, and prevent a reproduced image from swinging when employed as a magnetic recording medium by forming projections with high density and uniform height on the surface of a laminate film by means of particles added in the laminate film. CONSTITUTION:A biaxially polyester film is formed such that a film consisting mainly of thermoplastic resin A and particles is laminated at least on one surface of a film consisting mainly of thermoplastic resin B, and the average height of the projections on the surface of laminate film of the thermoplastic resin A formed by means of the particles is 1/3 or above of the average particle diameter of the particle, and the surface resistance in the laminate film side is 1 X 10 OMEGA/square or below. When the thermoplastic resin A has, as a main constitutional component, the constitutional units of ethylenterephthalate, ethylene alpha,beta-bis(2-chlorophenoxy)ethane-4,4'-dicarboxylate, and the like, the swing preventive property of reproduced images becomes good. And, when polyester employed as the thermoplastic resin B, the durability of the entire of a film is enhanced.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystal polymer film superior in shock resistance, by making the title film into a thermotropic liquid crystal polymer having a specific thickness, dapples in thickness and Young's modulus. CONSTITUTION:Since the title film is of that comprised of a composition consisting mainly of a thermotropic liquid crystal polymer, whose difference in Young's modulus between a longitudinal and widthwise directions (longitudinal direction-widthwise direction), thickness and dapples in thickness are respectively 500-600kg/mm , 1-100/mum and within a range of not exceeding 20%, a liquid crystal polymer film whose shock resistance is favorable can be provided as mechanical characteristics possessed by the liquid crystal polymer is maintained. Although the thermotropic liquid crystal polymer is not limited specifically and a matter known to public can be used, in case of thermotropic liquid crystal polyester, it is especially preferable since shock resistance becomes more favorable. In the event that a surface layer part and the central part are oriented respectively in the longitudinal and widthwise directions and in the event that a ratio A/B between a thickness A of, the surface layer part and the while thickness B of the film falls within a range of 0.01-0.7, the shock resistance becomes more favorable. In the event that mean heights of protrusions of the surface of the film is 30-50nm, dapples in thickness becomes more favorable.
