    Abstract: 1488237 Transformers STANDEX INTERNATIONAL CORP 5 April 1976 [11 Aug 1975] 13667/76 Heading HIT A transformer for correction of pincushion distortion in a C.R.T., comprises a double-E magnetic core having an input winding 42 on the central leg, a first output winding 34 on one outer leg and a pair of equal output windings 38, 40 connected in series opposition on the other outer leg. The input winding is connected to a source of signals at vertical scanning frequency; the first output winding is connected in series with the C.R.T. horizontal deflection coils, across input terminals supplying a horizontal deflection signal, and the pair of series windings is connected across a capacitor between a pair of vertical deflection coils fed by a vertical deflection signal, (Fig. 1, not shown). The transformer is constructed as a plug-in unit (Fig. 5) and comprises an insulating base 50 provided with pedestal portions for supporting bobbins carrying the windings and terminal pins 52. Spacers provide air-gaps in the core legs. The unit may be encapsulated.

    Abstract: 1480703 Variable capacitors STANDEX INTERNATIONAL CORP 25 Feb 1975 7853/75 Heading H1M In a variable capacitor wherein the movable electrode is a threaded piston 44 axially displaceable within insulating sleeve 22 supporting the fixed electrode 26, air gaps between the flattened peaks 46 of the screw thread and the inner wall of sleeve 22 are minimized by having the piston 44 slightly oversize and providing a longitudinal slot 42 in the sleeve 22 and associated members to permit radial expansion thereof. As shown sleeve 22 has a second metal coating 24 spaced from fixed electrode 26 and terminal members 28 and 30 have slotted sleeve portions slid over and soldered to metal coatings 26 and 24 respectively, terminal 28 being connected to piston 44 by spring portions 45. Sleeve 22 may be formed by bending a flat sheet of, e.g. p.t.f.e. having the appropriate metal pattern thereon (Figs. 8-11, not shown).

The material forming the jacket, preferably a thermoplastic polyester resin, has a coefficient of thermal expansion greater than the coefficient of thermal expansion of the body 11. The jacket 12 also includes a downwardly extending lip 17 to create a dead air space 19 between the base of the jacket and a supporting tray 18; and tapers inwardly to create a further dead air space between the jacket 12 and the cover 14 at 24. The body 11 may also include an electric heating element (29), Fig. 6 (not shown). In another embodiment Fig. 8 (not shown) an annular space is provided between the body 11 and the depending side walls of the jacket, the space being sealed by an elastic material (41). The body 11 may also include bores (38) filled with the synthetic resin of the jacket 12.

    Abstract: A cluster assembly wherein a block has three longitudinal passageways. Connector clips are inserted into those passageways. The block has transverse holes in a front wall providing a communication to the clips so that pins from a header can pass through the holes and be connected to the clips. One of those holes has a boss surrounding it to improve the assembly of the cluster assembly to the three-pin header.

    Abstract: A non-intrusive fluid level detector including a single point capacitive sensor mounted on the outside surface of a receptacle such that capacitive principles can be utilized to sense the level of a liquid contained within the receptacle. The sensor assembly is disposed in a substantially fixed position on the exterior wall of the receptacle wherein the dielectric effect of the liquid changes the effective capacitance of the sensing capacitor as the liquid rises and falls within the receptacle. This change in effective capacitance is detected by electronic circuitry included in the detector device. In one embodiment, the fluid level detector is directly mounted to a completely non-conductive receptacle. In another embodiment, the fluid level detector is mounted to a non-conductive window which is an integral part of a receptacle fabricated out of a conductive material.

    Abstract: A cluster assembly for application to a three prong header from the interior of a hermetically-sealed compressor. The cluster assembly includes an insulated block having spaced parallel passages in which connector clips with leads attached are disposed. The block has flanges at the ends of the passageways from which the leads project, the flanges having notches. The leads are placed in the notches and are twisted to lie outside the surfaces of the block, the block when applied spacing the leads away from the compressor housing.
