Abstract: A portable terminal and a method for displaying menu thereof are provided to easily grasp not only a neighboring upper menu but also hierarchical relation between upper menu and lower menu. An upper menu is indicated on a display screen as a list(211). When an upper menu is selected, the selected upper menu as described above and a next upper menu of the selected upper menu as described above are indicated on both ends of the respective display screen(219). A lower menu of the selected upper menu as described above is indicated as a list between the selected upper menu as described above and the next upper menu. When one of the lower menus is selected, the selected lower menu as described above is executed(231,233).

Abstract: A character input method of a mobile communication terminal and an apparatus therefor are provided to display a keyboard key more largely than the key on a touch screen. A character input method using a touch screen(155) comprises the following steps of: displaying a virtual keyboard(10) including a plurality of keyboard keys(12) according to a character input request, wherein the keyboard keys have the same size; receiving input signals through the touch screen; moving the virtual keyboard when the input signal is a drag signal while inputting a corresponding character when the input signal is a click signal; and displaying a part of the virtual keyboard on the touch screen. The virtual keyboard includes blanks among the keyboard keys, and is displayed in a cylindrical shape. The keyboard keys are differently displayed according to each arranged location.
